/"What happened between you two?/" I question my friends
/"No, don't try to pretend like you didn't just have a phone call with your no good ex/" Faith is quick to say causing me to rub my temples
/"I appreciate your concern, Faith, but I don't want to talk about it/" I say politely since I don't want to involve her in this mess
She nods with understanding as she points towards an empty spot on her lunch tray.
/"I had a slice of coconut cake right here, as I was going to eat it I noticed that it was gone/" she explains
/"She thinks that I took it/" Bailey informs me nonchalantly
/"Well, did you?/" I ask, trying to get down to business
/"Yes, I did/" she responds with an unbothered facial expression
I have to pinch my inner arm to stop me from laughing at this situation.
This happens all the time.
I take a dollar bill from my backpack and hand it to Faith.
