Father finally dismissed the meeting after planning to search for the traitors that sits amongst us. And soon the couple both flew out the room, none of us suspecting anything as it was very late at night.
I turned to hug my mother goodnight. She held my face in her hands once again as she smiled softly but her eyes quickly went to Lucas’ who was ready to jump out the door himself. /"The earth indeed smells heavenly when the rain falls upon it, doesn’t it, Lucas?/"
But his eyes were in so much pain as he curtly nods his heads, biding goodnight as he marches out, leaving me dumbfounded. I turned back to face my mother, very confused. /"What was that?/"
Her smile, ever so soft, her green eyes shining bright under the chandelier, holds so much happiness. /"Go and talk to him. He needs you right now. He might be a bit… overwhelmed./" My brows furrow further in confusion. /"But why?/"
