Outside it had already gotten dark and a soft knock came from the window. Having just woken up, it took a few minutes for her brain to come back online and understand what’s going on.
On the other side of the window, Midnight was starting to get nervous. He has been knocking for quite a while, but Ryder had yet to open the window. At first he thought she was most likely sleeping, but now he was doubting that. Maybe she’s not in her room at all.
Just as a frown appeared on his lips, the window opened. /"If you throw rocks at me, I will personally kill you./" Ryder threatened with a hoarse voice from just waking up.
/"Huh?/"
/"They taste like dirt./" Ryder kept talking incoherently with an aggrieved tone and tears on her eyes, confusing poor Midnight even more.
