As the sun touches the horizon and gazes down on the African bush veldt, the two Land Rovers leave the safari camp behind them, the cry of a lone Fish Eagle high above the dark waters of the Kafue river echoes across the blue sky.
With determination written all over his face, Piet van Zyl guides the Land Rover past the potholes and eroded sections of the dirt road, and on reaching the turnoff for the smallholding, turns and heads towards the scene of Debi’s abduction. Piet’s heart filled with hope that the police had missed something and that Veronica will once again prove to be a cut above the rest, and come up with a lead.
