Epilogue
Three months later.
Bright and full, the moon rises above the horizon, throwing its beams down on the African veldt, it's lunar light pushing back the shadows that surround the house. David and Adele sit on the front stoop, watching the progress of the moon as it travels across the night sky.
The song of a night bird fills the air, and a family of warthogs moves across the front of the smallholding into nearby brush, wildlife has returned to the area, and for the first time since they have returned to their new home, they feel really safe.
Moonbeams play amongst the trees as they shine down, throwing a gentle light onto the African soil, and in the lunar light of the moon, standing strong and firm, a Blood Lily opens its petals to the night sky.
