The report back from the pilot of the Bell Ranger Helicopter does not carry any hope for the waiting men, as the two in the cockpit has seen nothing on the flowing waters of the Kafue River. A promise is made that the crew would be back in the air at first light, and would search the entire length of the river once more, up towards the abandoned copper mines that are near the border with the Congo. If they pick up anything, they will liaise with both the police and the anxious men.
The arrival of the police launch fills David with a sense of foreboding, as the sun is going down, very soon darkness would claim the land, and there’s nothing that could be done until first light. All David can do is pray that both the women in his life are safe, and will be found early in the morning.
