Darkness is broken by a small paraffin lamp that glows softly in the centre of the sleeping occupants of the hut, as they lie huddled under the blankets, keeping the cold night air at bay, when a furious scratching is heard from the back of the hut, and the low growl of the killer breaks the silence.
Terrified, the family in the hut hastily gathers together searching for the nocturnal visitor. Their eyes widened as they stare at the ever increasing hole that is developing under the onslaught from the claws of the lion, as he slowly breaks through the wall his massive head now visible, as he starts to force his body into the hut.
The woman screams in terror, grabs her baby from its cot, and bolts out of the door into the night. The man grabs his spear from the floor and turns to meet the entering lion head-on as it springs through the air, taking him down, its fangs buried in his throat, his spear falls uselessly to the dry earth floor.
