#Chapter124
Every sense alert the Rangers spread out as they move slowly through the thick bush, their rifles at the ready, looking for signs of a lion in the area. As they approach a clump of reeds a low growl of warning is issued from within. They come to a standstill, and peer in the direction of the reeds, the growl comes again, and suddenly a young lioness breaks from the cover and charges the group of rangers.
The charge is so sudden that one ranger goes down under the charging cat, but before any damage can be done, the sound of rifle fire fills the air, and the cat is killed instantly.
She is about three years old, weighs in at 272 lbs and measures just less than 6 ft. There is no indication of any reason why she had turned into a man-eater, but the rangers are positive that they have their killer as she was shot not far from where the two lovers were attacked.
