#Chapter148
Mack to the rescue, again
Mack
I stood in the hospital's hallway, leaning against the wall as Andy Pandy and Gavin stood across from me. /"So, when did you both decide appearances mean more than your kids?/" I asked.
/"Don’t start, Mack,/" Andrew said.
/"We feel bad as it is,/" Gavin said.
/"You feel bad. Imagine how that kid’s parents feel. Wait. Andrew knows./" I looked at Andrew, who said nothing.
/"I don’t think anyone wanted this to happen,/" Lakin said as we stood there.
/"No. But doing nothing is better than something. That makes sense,/" I said.
/"Do you know what it’s like to have someone attack you?/" Lakin asked me.
/"Yes, I do. I had two guys attack me, and the same two guys shot me,/" I said, surprising Lakin. /"Yes, I know what it’s like. So, save it./"
Lakin said nothing.
