Being a friend

I told my parents what had happened at school. They sat me down, telling me the whole truth about Andi. I didn’t know she had developed an eating disorder because she had a distorted view of herself. I knew I had loved her for a long time. Whenever she developed a crush on someone, they would give her some lame excuse for why they didn’t like her back.
If she had told me, it would have thrilled me. Andi is incredible, including her smile. She had these dimples that came out when she smiled. It was her best feature.
I wanted to show her that not all guys were like those she had developed unrequited crushes on. I needed to be her friend and show her that someone cared about her, even if she never loved me back.
First, I needed some advice. One person would understand. I knocked on the front door. The person answered it. /"Let me guess. You need help./"
I didn’t know what to say.
