After our excursion to the apple orchard, I dropped everyone off at home. I needed a break. I’m getting too old for this shit.
I came into the house, carrying a bag of apples, and went into the kitchen. Paige was making dinner, which surprised me.
/"How did the apple orchard trip go?/" Paige asked.
/"Well, the kids argued, played tag, and firefighters had to get Casey out of a tree./"
/"So, it’s a typical day./"
/"Yep, and what are you making?/" I checked out the food on the stove.
/"I found a new recipe to try./"
/"Will it kill me?/"
Paige rolled her eyes.
/"Hey, I need to know if you’re planning on bumping me off to get my money./"
/"What money? Because if that were the case, you duped me into a loving relationship./"
/"Well, a guy needs to know if a woman will marry a guy for love or money. Nowadays, you can never tell./"
