My cousins helped celebrate my birthday, and I got a surprise in the form of Matthew. He showed up at the house with Payton. I gave Matthew the biggest hug.
/"Man, what are you doing here?/" I asked Matthew, looking at him.
/"Payton called me and said you were pouting since I left. He said it would make you feel better if I came for your birthday. Here I am,/" Matthew said, smirking.
I shook my head and chuckled.
/"I’m glad Payton has a big ass mouth because it’s not the same without you,/" I told Matthew.
/"You do what’s best for you. College isn’t for me,/" Matthew replied, shrugging.
/"Whatever the case is, I’m glad you’re here,/" I said, hugging Matthew again.
Matthew and I grew up together because our moms lived near each other. Besides Payton, I was closest to Matthew. The other cousins said hi to Matthew; then, we celebrated my birthday.
