I knocked on a door, and Jaime looked up from his desk. My brothers and I walked into the office and sat down in chairs. Jaime leaned back in his chair.
/"Why do I have a feeling this isn’t a social visit?/" Jaime asked.
/"Because it’s not,/" Nix said.
Jaime looked at us.
/"You can’t call Shaun to corroborate the tape,/" I said.
/"Why not? He was part of the situation,/" Jaime said.
/"Because Shaun was in rehab,/" Nix mentioned.
/"What?/" Jaime said, looking at us.
/"Look,/" Nolan said, handing Jaime a disc.
Jaime put the disc into his laptop and played it, which showed dates and times. It also showed Shaun’s greatest hits.
/"So, as you can see, there’s no way Shaun could have known about the situation. He wasn’t there,/" Nathan said.
Jaime gave us a look as I looked at him with my steel-grey eyes.
/"You don’t want your case to fall apart, do you?/" Noah asked.
