Drive, baby, drive
Maggie
/"Does anyone else think this idea is awful?/" Nixon asked.
/"You’re not helping, Nixon,/" Pat said.
I sat in the driver’s seat of the car with Nash. We were in an empty parking lot, and he was teaching me how to drive.
/"Okay, remember what I taught you./"
/"Check my mirrors. Start the car. Put my foot on the brake and put the car in gear. Then tap the accelerator./"
/"Good./" He nodded.
I did, but instead of reversing, I put it in drive and floored it.
/"Hit the brakes!/"
I slammed on the brakes. Nash threw the car into park.
I looked at him. /"Are we done?/"
/"Yes./" He hurried out of the car.
I laid my head on the steering wheel and groaned. I’ll never learn how to drive.
/"Yeah, this idea was terrible./" Nash walked over to them.
