#Chapter391
Summer at the bakery
Lex
Piper and I were working in the bakery, applying the skills we learned at school. That would help when we graduated next year. Plus, working alongside Dad was a dream.
While Ma and Piper baked, we decorated. The bakery had become busier than usual. Uncle Noah and Nathan took care of the business aspect of it. They also ran the manufacturing plant. Michael, Mia, and Major were also helping at the plant, along with other cousins. Grampa was looking to hand over the business to other family members and retire.
We, Grays, had grown over the years, and every so often, we saw a family member we hadn’t seen in a while.
Ding!
I cleaned my hands and came out to the front to find Jace and Jaime.
/"Hey, Lex, is your dad here?/" Jace asked me.
/"Yeah, he’s working on an order./" I walked to the kitchen. /"Dad? Jace and Jaime are here./"
Dad set his stuff down and came out front.
