Before there's an ending, there's a beginning
Maggie
When we meet people in our lives, we never know what to expect. I moved next door to five troublemaking brothers. I was two and found myself in their backyard, and one pushed me down. A woman helped me when she put a Band-Aid on my scraped knee.
As I became older, I viewed Pat more like a mother than my useless mother. Nate became a father to me, while my worthless father couldn't see me for dust. My parents' lack of parental instinct was a blessing in disguise. It led me to a loving family with five crazy brothers.
/"Now what?/" Nash asked, knocking me out of my thoughts.
I stood in the funeral home as we heard arguing coming from the brothers. Nash and I walked over to the others. Nathan and Nixon argued while Noah played a referee, and Nolan shook his head.
/"Why are you arguing?/" Nash asked his brothers.
/"Nixon refuses to do Ma's service,/" Nathan said.
