I still must take it easy because of my ribs. The schedule change helped, along with Elias hanging out with me. He spent more time at my house instead of his.
/"Any more issues?/" Elias asked me.
We gorged ourselves on junk food.
/"No, which is good. I want a peaceful senior year without excitement./"
Elias arched an eyebrow.
/"Well, besides you./"
Elias chuckled, popping a Dorito into his mouth. /"What about homecoming?/"
I chewed on candy. /"What about it?/"
/"Do you want to go?/"
/"It depends. Do you want to take me?/"
/"Yeah./"
I choked on my candy as Elias patted my back. I gasped, snatched my drink, and sipped it.
/"Was it something I said?/"
I stared at Elias in awe. My lips curved into a smile. Then, something dawned on me. /"Wait. We haven’t even gone on a date./"
