I booked it out of there, leaving the plate and food on the floor. I ran down the stairs and out of the house, jumping over the fence into Nate's backyard. Something pulled on my leg as I fell and smacked the ground. Nate and Deacon stared at me.
I got up and stood there for a minute. Then I hobbled over to Nate and Deacon.
/"What are you doing?/" Nate asked me.
/"Trying to keep what dignity I have left,/" I said.
/"I thought your driving was bad. It doesn't compare to your athletic skills,/" Deacon said.
I closed my eyes and inhaled, then opened them. /"I took Tori some food and caught Elias kissing her./"
Nate and Deacon did a double-take.
/"It seems Elias jumped the gun./" I nodded.
/"What part of slow doesn't our dipshit brother understand?/" Nate asked with disbelief.
/"Have you met Elias?/" Deacon asked Nate.
