Spring break reflection

After what happened, spring break was a welcome distraction. We all went to Hawaii. Our mothers didn’t trust us alone, and our fathers would not get stuck with us. Our parents made it a family trip.
/"Ryker, come on!/" Val yelled.
/"Shouldn’t you take it easy?/" I yelled back.
/"The cardio doctor cleared me. You’re wasting time. Move it, boys!/"
/"I swear your girl is nuts,/" Ryder said.
/"Yeah, but at least, she’s here./"
I grinned, and he shook his head as we hiked up the mountain. Once we reached the top, Val was looking out into the distance. I walked over and wrapped my arms around her.
/"Beautiful, isn’t it?/" She asked.
/"Yes, she is./"
She turned and smiled at me, then kissed me.
/"Smile for the camera,/" Ryder said.
