#Chapter337
Homecoming weekend
I hadn’t seen Mel except in class, and when I would glance in her direction, she would doodle in her notebook. I missed her being a pain in the ass. After class, I caught up with her.
/"Don’t worry; I’m not stalking you,/" Mel reassured me.
/"What? Oh, that? Psh, I was having a moment,/" I said.
She gave me a confused look.
/"Look, I may or may not, somewhat, kind of miss you,/" I mentioned.
Her expression changed to surprise. /"You missed me?/" Mel questioned.
/"What? No, the hospital must have done something to your mental faculties,/" I answered.
A smile formed upon her lips. /"It’s okay. I missed your sarcasm, too,/" Mel said, smiling.
I smiled, then asked, /"Hungry?/"
/"Yes. Can we go to Kate’s bakery?/" Mel asked me.
/"You read my mind,/" I said, leaning close to her face with a slight smile.
