I finally got to spend time with Gloria. It had been a while. As soon as we hit the motel room, we lost our clothes. I made love to her repeatedly, making up for a lost time. It had been too damn long.
We took a breather and laid in bed. Gloria laid on my chest as I held her.
/"I missed you, Carri./"
/"Thanks to my brother Mason, my plans flew out the door like a bird./" I made a fluttering sound with my mouth.
Gloria propped herself up and looked at me.
/"Mason signed a truce with the Morgan and Santiago families, so I can’t ask them for help to keep Maurice and his brothers busy./" I sighed.
/"It doesn’t matter, Carri. I don’t plan on staying with Maurice./"
I ran my fingers through her hair.
/"Maurice thinks because he’s sober that it erases everything that happened between us. He broke his promises to me, and I get tired of listening to him constantly./"
