Chapter 10 - Chapter 9

Dressed in a milk-white shirt, Daru stood outside in front of Gloria's house. Unlike yesterday, it didn't feel heavy. Instead, he felt light. All that was required was to have met her, to find his anchor.

He could turn the world, now that he had his solid ground.

He stood there waiting for Phil, though he didn't have to wait for long. A car came right in front of him. He could see Phil smile and wave when he came in front. Daru hopped in.

 "Good morning."

 "Good morning, Phil."

Seated comfortably, Daru nodded towards Phil. As they cruised away, Phil said, "Daru, I know you would be really helpful, but I can handle this myself. Thank you for bailing me out with Claire yesterday, though."

Looking at Phil as he smiled, Daru said, "It's alright, man. I am just coming along. You do your work."

Slowly, they pulled towards a café. After parking the car, Phil and Daru walked into the café. Phil looked around. When his eyes landed in one corner, he started walking towards there. Daru looked towards the table they were walking towards.

A lady with dark hair and chocolate skin was seated there, with her legs crossed.

'Well, I know why there was a problem. After all, Janace is part of the race that turns on Phil.' (Author's Note: It's canon, Phil likes black women. FYI, this doesn't follow the plot of the episode.)

 "Hey, Janace."

The lady looked up with half-lidded eyes looking bored after Phil greeted her. But when she looked at Daru next to him, she opened her eyes perceptively. Looking at Daru up and down, she nodded to herself. Smiling, she invited, "Please sit down."

Daru and Phil sat opposite to her. "Would you like to have something?"

"No, thank you, Janace. I just want to apologize, and…"

Janace interrupted him, showing her hand with a wide smile that didn't reach her eyes, "I was not asking you."

Daru smiled amused, "I am good, thank you."

Cough giving an awkward cough, Phil continued, "I am really sorry for the misunderstanding at the supermarket…"

 "Was it really a misunderstanding?"

"Yes, I was only meaning to help you."

"You didn't really seem to be doing much."

"That's why I want to ask you this one chance, just this one time. I will show you the house that would be all that you wished for."

"Why should I give you the chance? You don't seem to know what I want." While saying this, Janace shot a look towards Daru.

Daru chuckled internally. "You can just see this house just once, and if you don't like it, then I will back out."

 "Look…" Janace seemed exasperated.

daru felt like laughing out loud. The women was clearly pent up and horny. All she wants is to be dicked down.

Phill on the other hand is just going on about stuff.

'Guess he, Phil, has the ignorant razz. He easily works for the blank checks but doesn't know how to bank them.'

"Janace, if I may," Daru interrupted. Janace looked at him with narrowed eyes and then nodded her head.

"Why don't you only give him this one chance…" Janace seemed to almost roll her eyes, "believe me, this time you would really get what you are looking for." Daru winked at her with a suggestive smile. Janace too smiled, and a second later looked towards Phil, "Alright, let's go right now."

"Absolutely," Phil practically jumped from the seat and went ahead. Not looking at him, Janace just coyly smiled towards Daru. He too nodded towards the door.

Stopping near a two-story house, Phil gets out. "This is a wonderful neighborhood. You have the school, library, parks, malls all in a 5 km radius."

Janace nods lightly as Phil goes towards the house with his business smile. 'He loves his job,' thought Daru with how Phil looked to be in his element.

"That is the garage; it has self-open doors. I will show that to you at last," said Phil, pointing towards the garage, all while opening the door. Then opening it wide, he walked in beckoning the two. "Now, if you could follow me into the house."

Janace and Daru walk in. "First, we have the living room. Plenty of space for gatherings or entertaining guests."

 "Living room. How unique."

"The large windows at the back let sunlight stream in."

Janace rolls her eyes and lets out an audible sigh. Ignoring Janace's comment, Phil continues the tour, leading them towards the elegant kitchen.

"And here's the kitchen, equipped with the latest appliances and beautiful granite countertops."

Janace scoffs, crossing her arms impatiently. "Because that's what I've always wanted – fancy countertops."

Phil, undeterred, guides her to the bedrooms. "Now, let me show you the bedrooms. Each one is spacious and filled with natural light."

Just then, people come at the entrance. "Hey, we saw the board outside that this is for sale."

"Ah, yes, if you give me a moment…"

"Phil, why don't you talk to them. I will go with Janace to look around the bedrooms."

"…um," Phil showed a complicated expression, but before he could get in something, Janace commented from the side.

"Yes, that would be alright. You can take your time."

"…okay," was all Phil could say looking at Janace smiling for the first time after entering the house. Daru too leaned towards his ear and whispered, "Let me talk to her for a while and calm her down."

While Daru and Janace went upstairs, Phil walked up to the couple that was standing near the door.

"Hey, I am Phil. I am the broker for this house."

"Nice to meet you, Phil. My name is Jeff, and this is my wife, Elene. We saw the board outside and wanted to see the house."

"Right, I was just showing the house to a client. If you would like, I would show you around together."

"Oh, it's alright; we could come by in the afternoon."

"That's okay too. If you could just give me your contact, then I will call you back."

Phil exchanged his card with their number. And then the couple left. Turning around, he saw the empty hallway. Looked like Daru and Janace were already looking at the bedrooms.

Taking a deep breath, Phil went back to his car. "I'd just heat these cookies that I brought. I hope Janace likes them." He knew he had messed up this time. But was it really his fault that Janace was clearly his type?

"And what? I was just being me. Damn, I am just too charming."
