The night had passed, and I felt the warmth of the morning sun rays from the window.
I got out of the top of my bunk bed and heard Cass talking in her sleep. When I opened the window curtains and looked outside and saw that there were different kinds of creatures, I realized that seeing Mr. Driteluys and the other dragon fighting wasn't a dream.
"Mmm...*yawn*, good morning, Ion," said Cass while sitting in bed brushing her eyes with her hands. "What time is it?"
An idea occurred to me. "I don't know. Care to have a look outside?"
I lent her a hand to take her close to the window, and with the other hand, I moved the curtains to the side.
"Wow, thanks. Why are you being so nice today? What are you - hmm!!" When she opened her eyes, she was surprised. "Aah!! W-what happened to the... !!" She stumbled on the ground with a loud thud.
"!! Are you OK, Cass? I'm sorry, I-I wanted to make sure you weren't thinking this is a dream." I extended my hand and sat with her on the bed holding her hands.
"S-so, all that was real?!"
"Yes, seems like it is."
"The house shaking, the talking egg, and the different types of animals?!"
"That's right, Cass."
We talked for a couple of minutes, and when she calmed down, I apologized again.
We then go downstairs to the living room and see a lot of food on the table.
Cass stands by the window, looking outside at the unfamiliar creatures, and I go to the kitchen.
"Good morning, Ur. Um, how are you doing?" I asked her because she's always like this when she's thinking about something.
"OH! You're here!" She says as she brings the fire on the stove to a low. "Can you help me with the side dishes?"
"I can, but... why did you make so much food? We might need it later, you know."
"Ah! S-sorry, I wasn't thinking straight." She seems to have realized what she's been doing. "I'm already almost done with the food, so can you please get the others to the living room?"
"Sure! Do you think they are still sleeping?"
"I'm not sure about Rocky, but I saw your brother going to the garage before I started cooking?"
"I see, thank you! I'll go see Rocky first," I say as I go upstairs.
"Good luck!" She replies.
Upstairs to the right hallway is my brother's room, and the further down is Rocky's room.
*knock knock* ...
I knocked harder, but he's not responding. "Is he not in his room?" I mumbled.
I turned the doorknob and peeked inside. I don't see him, and his room's still a mess. I closed the door and headed to the studio right in front of the stairs.
*knock knock*
"Coming!" Someone's inside.
The door's opened by Rocky. I'm amazed. It's still early in the morning.
"What are you doing here, Rocky?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing." He seems surprised. "Anyways, what are you doing here?"
"Well... Ur's been making a lot of food, so she told me to bring everyone to the living room." But I'm curious about what he's doing here. "What were you doing?"
"I was talking to Driteluys. He told me about alchemy and everything." Looks like he's having fun. "Do you want to join us?!"
"N-not now. I only came to get you down to eat."
"I see. Then I'll also take Driteluys to eat."
"See you downstairs." I turn back, wave my hand, and head to the garage.
As I head to the garage, I see Cass helping her sister with the last dishes. I wave my hand at them with a smile and slide open the door, connecting the kitchen and the garage.
I can't see my brother.
"Brother, are you here?! Brother!" While calling him, I heard something fall from the other side of the garage.
"Brother, is that you?" I whisper because it might be a wild animal. So I go around some crates filled with some scraps, some useful scraps. There are also boxes on all the shelves that don't let me see what's behind them.
I managed to get close enough to see what had fallen, and I saw my brother sleeping on a desk.
I pat him on the shoulder and shake him around, but he doesn't wake up.
I lean close to his ear and shout, "BROTHER! WAKE UP!"
"Argh! Be quiet. I'm trying to sleep." He sounds tired.
"*Sigh*... Ur made some food, so wake up and come to the living room, ok?" I turn around to head back to the kitchen.
'He's gonna come, right?' I think to myself.
"What are you doing standing there? Let's go." He's already by the door.
"Haha, that was fast," I whisper.
I make my way back to the kitchen, close the door, and see Rocky carrying Driteluys down the stairs. "You think he's alright, brother?"
"I dunno. I'll go help him." he rushes to Rocky and helps him put Driteluys on a small cabinet next to the table.
Ur then takes a small tall table and puts a metal bowl and a stick on top.
"Isn't that what the Japanese use to offer food to their diseased ancestors or predecessors?" Asks Rocky as he's seen many Japanese shows and anime.
"That's correct!" Ur replies.
"Where did you get those from? Did you buy them through the internet?" I ask.
"Oh, no. I didn't buy them. They were a gift from a friend."
"It must've been a good friend, then."
"Yeah, she was." She looks down. "She said it was a farewell gift because she was moving back home to take care of her grandmother."
"Oh. Was her grandmother sick?"
"No, she was just old and needed care, but most of her family was busy."
~After a moment of silence~
"Please, take a seat." Said Ur in her usual tone.
After sitting down, Ur blesses the food, and we all take some of this and that from the table.
By whatever reason, Rocky is taking food for Driteluys instead of for himself.
"Rocky, you should eat first and feed Driteluys later, or you'll collapse." Said my brother.
"Why should I?" Responded Rocky with a serious look on his face.
