That voice sounded too familiar it shot a jolt straight through to her chest. Evelina found her heart constricting for no reason- no reason at all. She hadn't done anything wrong or said anything wrong so why did she feel like digging a hole and sinking right into? All she'd done was tell Priscilla about getting assaulted by that man. She did not know the prince so well as to tell if he would take matters to the extreme or not but a shiny nagging voice inside her head told her that he would. Even though he hadn't said anything as of yet in that regard. She did not want him or anyone for that matter to get involved!
"I asked a question, Evelina. Who assaulted who?"
Laith stood before her, his gaze demanding answers. She swallowed hard, unable to find the words.
"Your Highness!" Priscilla's voice broke the tension, diffusing the heavy silence. The prince turned his attention to her.
