Chapter 6 - There You Both Are?

"What's going on here?" She retorts with a mellow and frantic voice, breaking the awkward atmosphere. No one said a word nor replied to her. She had no time to observe, contrast, and compare because the expression on their faces made everything obvious.

Her sight following her daughter's condition she directed her gaze to her husband's hospital ward. Through the transparent door, she notices that all medical support has been removed from her husband's body. She opens her mouth wide open. Gasping deeply, her hands and feet shaking. She felt the cold sweat conforming through her whole body.

She didn't know when she quickly dashes to the transparent door and went inside. Her tears fall silently as she places her palms tightly on her mouth, holding herself from screaming loud. Her breathing grows heavier as she watches her husband lying down still with white covers on him throughout.

She gingerly walks up close to her husband to make sure she's not hallucinating. Slowly she brought her chubby hands to her husband's head and slowly uncovers the white sheet. She let go of the sheet and jumps back in horror at the painful truth and reality. "No!!"

She screams.

Earlier, after she regained consciousness, she left with the officers to meet the victims' families. Only to come back to witness another shock. Her Tears kept on falling uncontrollably. It now dawns on her the reason her daughter has been acting up since the other night.

Her eyes flicker like she just remembers something and rushes outside to meet her daughter who had her whole body curled up on the floor. She went down on her knees and hug her from behind and cries with her silently.

At the underground packing lots the -Strange Man from earlier rushes towards the Black Suv and jumps into the front passenger seat.

"What happened in there, scot?" the buff man sitting in the driver's seat asks him, coldly as their car drives off. The scot guy swallows hard and maintains his expression. He glances sideways to look at the outside view through the tinted car window. "She didn't see my -Face."  He rebukes. The buff man stares at him meaningfully for a few seconds and throws his sight away from him.

"I hope you made sure of that… Remember No Mistakes." He asserted, reminding him seriously. Scot smirks and turns his head sideways, to face him. "Of course, No Mistakes." He counters deeply before turning the radio on. Smooth music started playing on the radio and lifted the atmosphere.

Back at the hospital, Malonie stopped crying. In one of the chairs in the foyers, she is sitting down while spacing out. Looking so shattered both emotionally and depressed physically.

"Malonie," her mother gently calls, bringing her out of her reverie thoughts. Her mother sighs deeply and seats beside her.

She's not looking good herself. Her eye bags are so swollen and all. "How are you feeling now, child?" She started. Malonie did not know whether to smile or do otherwise hearing her mother's question. Her face distorted with complicated expressions. "I don't know what answers, to give to that… l mean I feel otherwise." Malone counters heartbroken.

Tears start welling up in her mother's eyes again. Hearing her words. She slowly raises her chubby right hand to her face and wipes her tears with her handkerchief. "At this moment we have to take care of everything at hand," her mother went on to level everything in detail.

Malonie furors her eyebrows up and glances at her mother. "What do you mean?" She asks with an obvious frown on her face. Her mother sniffs back her tears and looks at her. "The right thing." She counters, leaving a deep meaning behind her words. "Mother! You know Dad is innocent! He's being framed!"

Malonie reasoned, her voice cracking as her eyes welled up with tears. Her mother put her palm on her palm, smiling assuringly while trying hard to hold back tears. "Even if, we still have no proof to show for it, Malonie, let's take care of these first. Okay," she pleaded with her.

Malonie swallows back her tears and stares at her mother deeply. She can see the obvious lines under her eye bags that appear overnight. She sighs deeply and exhales tiredly together with being helpless at the moment. She sniffs back her tears and throws her head backward and looks up to hold back her tears from falling.

"What do we do now?" She asks after getting her emotions in order. At the same time, she promises to go with the next thing that comes and not to flip out for her mother's sake.

"We, first of all, settle up the damages and also the victims…" her mother explains while sighing repeatedly and squeezing her handkerchief together.

"Have you thought this through, Mum?" Malone asks carefully, with a calm voice. Her mother nods her head profusely and raises her head to look at her. "Yes, I plan on getting help from Dixie…" her mother counters.

"What??"

Malonie could not help but shout. She shifts in her seat and shook her head twice. "That's a loan shark, Mum?" She reminds her with her eyes wide open, almost popping out from their socket.

"We have no choice at its stand. Also, I have contacted him already!" Her mother concludes with difficulty.

"This is unbelievable! What about Dad's boss, isn't he aware of the accident involving one of his workers? If I remember well, Dad went on a business trip with him, before this happened!" Malonie proclaims with a hurtful expression.

Her mother felt speechless, hearing her daughter's words. "I… Malonie… I…" she could not come up with an excuse.

"It did not cross your mind? Frankly speaking, there must be a way!!" Malonie thunders and stands up to her feet. Her mother shakes her head frantically. "No! Malonie, it's not as easy as you think, let's do the needful first as we don't have much time.

Malonie takes a step back as she finds everything happening strangely. "No! Mother, there must be a way to reach his Boss!" She emphasizes and turns to leave.

"There You both are??"

A cracked and rough voice of a woman implores with irritation evidence in her voice.
