The time was about half an hour before the sixteen guardians reached the Misty Mountain, Vaanavan already managed to make a deal with the system it was because he understood the system personality to a certain extent.
He wouldn't dare to claim he was knowledgeable about system way of thinking but he as a person unfortunate enough to stuc- ah live with it he was slowly able to understand it's thought process or general out look if you will.
But he also know it wasn't like him a mere mortal who make a judgement with experience and knowledge but something more and extremely unpredictable in a way it wouldn't hesitate to make a decision because of a whimsical thought but he successfully come to compromise with it on the matter regarding his clone spell.
It's not that he was dependable on system but he was also being cautious on how this clone technique going to affect him and the human race as a whole. He was not sensitive towards the mystical things like fate and karma so he need system assistance to further temper his clone technique and make sure nothing wrong with it.
Yes it's true that he, wanted to interact and experience what it was like the natives but he wouldn't foolishly shoot his leg for that as system explained the fluctuation of sudden change in fate is easy to notice at least for someone on the same level as system so being cautious is the way to go.
Besides he could understand system attitude as it was stacking as much as him in this experiment, it was in fact like a test if they fail they would be spotted and expelled from the planet even if the system didn't mention he know Norda wouldn't come to their aid it was like drawing target on oneself.
Vaanavan watched the snakelet on it's new nest on his writing desk it he wasn't that familiar with animal husbandry or raising pets his only companion wasn't even raised by him if he was true to himself.
He did learn beast taming and know lot of stuff but raising youngling wasn't what he proficient enough he know if he couldn't do it then the little thing would die he had no choice but ask system for little help.
Of course it doesn't mean any kind of dependence he would fought to tooth and nail with anyone who dare to disagree ahem! anyway he know how to get things done all he had to do was humbly ask note the point 'Humble' it was all about his performance if he praised and flatter system it wouldn't mind help him out and more tolerable with him.
Vaanavan as a dedicated scholar in the field of psychology, attitude and stuff he was long noticed it's sadistic tendencies and whimsical decision making even it's not content with human psychology he grasped it was ambitious and has fatal weakness to flattery so he would time to time apply this tactic he was being careful enough to not getting exposed of this besides it was already already unbearable to administered such a means.
He feed it a unknown small fish system get for him to after swallowing a two fishes the little thing wouldn't need to eat for about few days he couldn't help but look at couple of dozen fishes in the wooden pot which he didn't think necessary he had a thoughtful look but in reality he didn't dare to say anything about it because not only he need to ask the system help now another little thing need to feed as well so he tried to act more friendly to the system.
He calmly went near the few clay pots he casually made most of them simply a show case he choosed a big enough one then enforced the thing and started to engrave inscription on the outer surface of the pot and it's lid then he took out a processed ferocious beast leather inscribed some more inscription then rolled up the pot with it.
This was just some preservation runes and array he didn't want to scolded by the system or worried about food for the little snake it would certainly last for some time he heard a jeering laugh on his mind Vaanavan just simply smiled to this the system commented.
[Tsk, tsk! hey Host I don't understand just what are you going to get by doing all this, does it going to survive because you are bringing it here its the same miserable ending why bother? ]
Vaanavan politely smiled hearing system perspective but he let out a chuckle "I know you wouldn't understand things like that as you already know we are in the different plane of existence I can somewhat sympathize and relate to this little thing but you on the other hand should have lived high and mighty for the eternity if someone tricked you into this stuff"
Vaanavan was very clear of this companion of his and drawing more and more clear picture of it by the time he spended his time with it, the system didn't care about anything that doesn't concern it and it's safety so in that sense if what the system told him was truth enough his life as well as a act of self preservation but he was lived a different kind of life lived different kind of experience so his perspective was different.
The heavenly treasures were all are indifferent and ruthless beings in true sense so how should the system understanding what he was saying and feeling, the struggle of little thing remind him of the situation he was put in now so it was easy for him to relate and sympathetic towards the little thing not to forget the snake let was very cute and pretty as well.
The system suddenly interrupted his thoughts and emotions he was surprised to find there was a strange emotion in its tone which he find hard to identify what it was and the question was very strange as well.
[Why do you come in to such a conclusion, I don't do anything heartless to you do I? and what do you mean we were living beings of different planes I didn't remember doing something wrong to you?]
"...." Vaanavan couldnt help but thought of that long therapy session in the last two years he let out a dry laughter hearing his laughter as the system understanding the meaning hurriedly retorted.
[Wasn't that self explanatory, it was exactly what it was I was patiently guiding you besides this kind of things would make you mentally more resilient to sudden ambush and I never went overboard]
Vaanavan raised his eyebrow 'Was he imagining things or it's really the system sounding very concerned?' he thought to himself doubtfully as he thought of this sudden exchange he was little dumbfounded as well what exactly going on with the system sudden concern.
'Could it be because my condition over concerned over this could lead to another emotional outburst ' he thought to himself he was also little bit concerned now that he think about it, he didn't know what caused it and little apprehensive over the plant growing in his soul but as he thought the system was like really acting weird wasn't sure this was the reason so he remined silent.
'Maybe it was plotting something like last time's as he thought it his body has goosebumps, he became Vigilant as well as his confused eyes become focused and vigilant so he decisively choose to distract this line of conversation.
" Actually I want to ask you little favor if you don't mind" he has composed expression he continued "If it's possible can you strengthen t little silver soul its alright if it's blood line can't be stabilized I can cure it's injury but I need this herbs"
[.....]
"I have my reason to save the little thing, so don't get worried over this" he stated
[Pray tell me what it was I don't think saving such a useless thing going to any use for us]
Vaanavan lips twitched but he carefully clamped down his annoyance few notches he nonchalantly explained " Didn't you ask me to take a battle companion?"
[So?] the system seemed somewhat irritated not getting answer and sudden change of topics.
"What I'm saying is I'm going to initiate a contract with little silver-" before he could finish he heard an angry laughter from the system he paused subconsciously.
[You really do things thoroughly don't you? Not only did you daring enough to do something dangerous now but you want to form a contract with that things you must be getting deranged, hmph! ridiculous, how dare you to say this nonsense to me?]
The system was almost started to frothing in anger he felt chill passing through his spine he knows what forming a contract means and why the system seems to have this much of a reaction but he could be stubborn as well he really did this for reason forming a contract would help this little thing out maybe even increase it's potential to certain level besides he considers some headstrong aggressive beast over little silver after all they now had a karma between them he even named it after his previous companion.
He was thankful that the guardians reached hear on time to spare him from the pain of getting scolding he decisively used the system control panel to brought them up it was his latest discovery.
The sixteen guardians quickly bowed down in front of the cave and paid their respect, to their ancestor an invisible energy forced them from kneel down so they simply bowed down thought ancestor was thoughtful of them.
"You guys did well this time, I have told them what to do, let them temporarily stay in that Mountain after little bit of arrangement in my part I will personally take their matter in my hand" their lord voice rang in their ears.
They were relieved to hear this from the Lord at the same time they felt little uncomfortable as well, as if seen through them he said " You don't have to feel as though you guys let me down " he chuckled " They wouldn't listen to you anyway and you wouldn't able to deal with them yet and forcing you feel little harsh to me so do things as I say"
There was this awkward expressions on their face few thin skinned people flushed red, Vaanavan then commented " When you guys broke through this special stage, I will let you guys handle the matter" then he continued to explain few more things about his arrangements with the rock demons.
He let the rock demons work on the ore mines this was very easy for them in return he would allocated some energy stones unlike humans they didn't have any problems with refining spirit stones but they are limited to qi realm level rock demons if they greedy enough to refine more then they would explode and die he explained this to the rock head with everything else he hoped they aren't greedy like he surmised.
The guardians then reported the current situation of what was going on with the settlement and what are they planning to do in the following days, then Vaanavan proceed to ask things that he, consider necessary so when he asked them about the process of forming proper force they were hesitating.
Vaanavan already guessed what was going on and hearing them put up such a unconvincing excuses were very annoying for him but he pretended to agree with them then he informed then about his Plan they were shocked by his decision and little excited as well.
The Guardians were looked at one another in surprise and there was this competitiveness in them it was their chance to curry favor with this lord but they still felt this was surreal about this sudden development and bewildered by his decision 'Was this necessary?' but they were excited nonetheless after all each of them have their own ambition.
