Chapter 42 - Introduction of the Herald of Darkness

"Althea come in!" Chris shouts, knowing he is cut out of the communication. "Damn this MF, Think she can scare me with this illusion." Chris whispers.

A voice whisper in his ear, "I'm Thea, and that's the last name you'll know." Chris immediately looks behind to only see a wall. Suddenly, an invisible object flew on Chris face giving him a bruise. "Shit, It's so fucking dark that I can't see this girl". Chris grumbles, but Thea doesn't appear again. Chris looks around, but it's all just shadows that creep through him.

All of a sudden, Thea appears right beside him, startling Chris. The young teen jumps back, startled. "Sorry about that". He mutters. Theta simply smiles at her apology. "So Chris, how does darkness make you terrified?" She asks politely.

He clears his throat before responding,"Better?, Probably making me a little out of control." He says while holding with his gun waiting for his enemy to appear from darkness.

His eyes are darting around, searching for any kind of danger. His mind has gone into full overdrive, trying not to panic like every other human being.

"Maybe don't bore your food?" Chris jokes to ease his panic.

Thea suddenly appears and attack Chris. Chris immediately shoots Thea, but to no avail as the bullet pass through her. She pushed Chris in the wall that causes the wall to have some cracks. He immediately shoots Thea, but again to no avail as the bullets began to pass through.

"Ah Shit. If I can just use my power without being noticed." Chris says to himself and blocks some hits by Thea.

He then pulls out his dagger and uses it to slash Thea across the chest, which caused her to gasp in pain. "That should give me enough time to get out of here." He sighs.

Suddenly, Thea grabs Chris arm, stopping him. She then begins to speak, "Shit!." Chris yells as she stabs her knives onto his forearm, causing him to scream in pain and let go of the dagger. He quickly tries to block more stabs. Thea was now attacking Chris even more violently, throwing kicks and punches. Her knife stabbing and stabbing Chris' arms until he was able to use his hand to knock her away. Once, she landed roughly on the floor. Thea gets up slowly and charges again to attack once more. However, Chris had caught hold of one of her wrist blades using both hands and flips her over his knee. Thea lands on the floor. Her arms pinned to her side and, Thea lets out an audible grunt before disappearing into the sudden darkness.

"So, she can pass through as long as there is darkness, That's why can't I hit her the shadow from knives I threw is an advantage for her" He said in thoughts. Then Chris heard a faint sound like water running from afar, He turns towards it and sees Thea standing near the door. Before Chris could move, Thea lunges for Chris. She slashes his torso with the knife, which made blood pour from the wounds. Chris grunts in pain and grips his stomach. Thea continues to slice and thrust her knives at Chris, cutting his flesh. But he still refused to die. Finally, after several minutes, Chris felt something inside of him break. He collapses down and falls face-first into the ground. Chris feels his legs lose strength from underneath him and the darkness consumes him.

"Fuck this, It's my turn now and a Torture is much more suitable than your life." Chris shouts. Thea smirks and walks closer to him before putting another knife on his body. This time Chris doesn't attempt to fight but allow Thea to cut his skin with the knife before passing out. Chris' vision goes black as he passed out.

Thea goes near his body and suddenly felt a chilly surrounding. She looks around to only find out that the wall disappeared instantly. The lights in the room were dim, almost completely extinguished, Thea looked around her and realized she was in a dark hallway. She could sense a faint breeze coming from somewhere. She slowly walks in the direction to discover a staircase leading upwards.

Chris is in their standing with his Scythe. This reminds Thea of the Grim Reaper and immediately runs away only to see the area to be a dead end. "Get away from me!" Thea shouts at Chris, walking slowly to her. Chris eyes Is the only white and everything is black. "I thought you're much stronger to even scare me. I hate the fact that you nearly cut off my legs." He says.

Everything turns dark and a light open up where Thea is currently restraint to a chair. It started Thea and makes him terrified. Chris appears from behind with a sinister smile. Thea flinches and struggles in her restraints."You're weak and pathetic if you can't beat me, I am the scariest thing to have ever happened in the world" he smirks before slashing the table she is bound too. Blood splatters everywhere as Chris laughs loudly before disappearing once more, leaving the scene. Thea screams and cries, but her cries were soon silenced as Thea passed out. Chris walked out of the room smiling with the bloody blade in his hand. "It seems I have to work a bit harder than I thought."

Thea is once again awake, still restrained, and he tries to unrestrained herself, but Chris appears again. "I would most likely enjoy it with you if you're not as weak as an ant. I am not scared of the darkness, I'm the darkness. I am just playing with you before I slit your guts out, but you literally hurt my legs. So let's play your game of playing the food." Chris says with a sinister smile.

Chris summoned his Scythe and hit the ground with the tip. They are both teleported, and it seems like a castle. Several skeletons rise from the ground that made Thea terrified.

They all stab her repeatedly in a never-ending loop while Chris is sitting on the throne.

But the truth is it's an illusion, Chris is standing to an unconscious Thea in the ground having himself a nightmare while saliva oozing out of his mouth. "I shouldn't do this, I may trigger some energy surge." Chris states exiting the room.

"Althea come in! I'll meet you at the fountain in the middle of the city." Chris says in comms.
