Chapter 41 - Spy

"I'm inside the building. No one detects me." Chris comms in Althea." On it, The data shows that the main surge of energy is at the 5th floor." Althea replies.

Chris began to look like he's a normal worker working in the building. He is stuck in two guys that look like a bodyguard inside the elevators.

"Disabling the camera in 3,2 and 1." Althea says.

As soon as the Camera is shut down, Chris instantly takes down the two guards with ease. He looks around before going down into the elevator and pushing the 6th floor button. When the doors slide open, he sees that everything seems peaceful and the hallway has an eerie vibe that Chris hates.

Chris walks through the hallways without being noticed by anyone as he continues his way towards his destination. He's finally in front of the door to the 5th floor. He slowly opens the door when no alarms are sounding and enters the room. It appears that everyone else was out because there is no one here. There were a few computers, but it looked deserted since it was pretty early. There is also some random stuff lying around.

Chris decides to check it later, so he puts on gloves and carefully begins to explore this mysterious place. He starts with the first desk, which is filled with files on different types of machines. Next he gets to the second desk, which is full of papers on how to operate them. It was interesting enough to take notes on until he got to what looked to be a secret door on the back of the room.

He opens the door with the key card that he had stolen earlier while nobody knew about it. This door leads into a large space where only a small light is illuminating the entire room. It is dimly lit as if someone was using a flashlight. There isn't much of interest here apart from some weird machines with wires.

Suddenly, the lights go out. Chris immediately turns on his flashlight to illuminate the area better. After turning off the flashlight, Chris continues walking around the room. Chris tries looking around him again after getting closer to a computer, but nothing happens. Chris goes over to the computer.

There was no password on it, meaning someone used a password lock or something similar. But there wasn't any way to get past it. Then, out of the corner of his eye, Chris saw a dark figure walk out from a wall. Chris turned on his flashlight, illuminating a black cloaked man. Chris immediately grabbed his gun from the holster at his waist.

The man just stood there. "Chris Eredus, I didn't expect you to come into this dimension." the man says.

"We meet at last."

"Who are you and what do you want?" Chris asks. The man smiles at him.

"I am the person you fear, " The man says calmly.

Chris raises his eyebrows and shoots his gun at the man. The bullet hits the ground. He shoots his guns twice more, each time hitting the same spot. The man doesn't move. "How did you even know who I am, I've been cautious with my disguise." Chris asks. The man smirks at him and laughs quietly.

"You have changed a lot," The man comments," You're not as cold anymore." Chris stares at him. His eyes are completely void of emotion. He's still smiling.

Chris raises his brows. "And yet, you still haven't answered my questions," Chris says," who are you and what do you want?"

the man stays quiet. "Fine then," He says. Chris aims his guns once more, but the Man kicks it. He began to fight Chris. He punches and kicks at him while Chris tries to shoot his gun, but they both end up in a stalemate." What do you want?" Chris repeats.

"Your life." The man responds. Chris raises his brows again.

"Why would I give myself over to you?" Chris asked. They start another stalemate. Suddenly, The Man pulls out a knife. He lunges at Chris, but Chris catches him and slams the man against the wall. He pushes the knife deeper into the man's chest, cutting him deeply. Blood pours out of the wound, dripping down onto the ground. The man's hands begin to claw at Chris, trying to stop the bleeding. The man screams and tries to break free, but Chris holds on to him tightly. Finally, the man's body falls to the floor.

Chris drops the knife. He walks towards the body, but before he could touch it the room suddenly shakes violently.

"You think I'm that easy?" The man says that makes Chris looks across the room on where the body is, but it suddenly disappeared.

Chris is now alone in the room. He looks around, feeling terrified. There was nothing in sight except a long corridor lined with doors. All of a sudden, a door slides open, revealing a woman dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans. She wears glasses and her hair is tied back into a ponytail. Her skin color was a sickening shade of pale gray, almost transparent.

Her clothes are covered in scars and burns. There was also one of her arms missing from her wrist to below her elbow. It is the only part of her that is intact. A long scar runs along her left leg, stretching all the way from her knees to her ankle. There are bandages wrapped around her thigh. As she moves, the bandages shift and sway along with her movements."You came in at the wrong time, Chris," the woman says. She smiles at him, and the smile looks unnatural and sinister. The skin between her eyes splits apart, making her eyes seem darker, bloodshot. She reaches her hand out toward him.

Before her fingers can even get close to his skin, the woman disappears and Chris is alone in the room again. He sits on the ground. "What the fuck…" Chris muttered quietly.
