The Shadow demon sect was located in the northern regions of the continent.
It resided deep in the mountain area, on top of the largest and widest mountain on the continent.
Right now I was climbing the stairs that led to the mountain top with Qin following behind me.
Of course, we were not just climbing the stairs normally or that would have taken us a whole day to get to the top.
I was using my shadow movement technique which covered my whole body in black smoke, enhancing my speed and physical abilities to run.
Qin was also using some movement technique that was not familiar to me but looked decent enough.
Her technique looked inferior to mine but she was able to keep up with me because she had higher cultivation compared to me.
Now, if someone saw me climbing these stairs, they will wonder,
'What is the successor of the sect doing living at the bottom of the mountain?'
Well, there is a reason for that.
When Lei found out the secret his mother was keeping from him, he was shocked. And instead of confronting her, he requested his mother to build him a separate building away from the main sect.
His mother did not ask him the reason for this action and just granted him the request.
With some servants and core followers, selected by her mother, he proceeded to that separate building and completely stopped speaking to her.
She also, for some unknown reason, never asked Lei to explain why he was not talking to her.
It was never mentioned in the novel, but the fans formed a theory seeing the little interactions Lei had with his mother.
He was simply afraid of her.
Although she was described as the most beautiful woman under the heavens, she had a very cold and emotionless personality. People would tremble in fear just by being in her presence.
And the thing that made her even scarier was her cultivation speed.
In her 60 years of life, she did what cultivators who lived for 500 years could not do.
She entered the first stage of the Ascension realm.
That is why she is known as a 1-in-a-million genius and is respected throughout the continent for her strength.
She cultivated most of the time and never really bothered much with worldly affairs which also included never bothering with Lei.
She just told everyone in the sect to grant him whatever he wanted and never to bother him.
Considering all this, I can understand why Lie never talked to her. She gave off the vibe that she does not care about him. So maybe, he also thought that if she does not care about me so I also should not bother her.
And when he finally found that secret, he understood why she was so indifferent to him.
'Now that I work everything in my head, It kinda makes sense'.
Still, this is all in theory and nothing is certain.
So I am really intrigued to find out what the gods did to adjust this part.
What are the actual feelings of that stone-cold beauty that Lie could never find out?
'I can't wait', I think in excitement.
As I was zooming toward the top, I made Qin explain the different things related to the sect.
I asked her to do this because, in the novel, the author did not explain things properly. He skipped too many details about this area.
The author might have thought,
'since a very small part of the story takes place here, there is no need to go into that much detail'.
'haaa, what is the point of knowing the story when it's not even properly complete' I grumble inwardly.
Anyway, Qin started explaining things to me without asking questions such as 'shouldn't you already know all this'.
This attitude of 'not asking questions and just doing as your told' made me like her even more.
She started explaining things from the very basics.
On the flattened mountaintop, surrounded by a big wall of sunstone, were the main sect hall, training grounds, medicine hall, the empress's mansion, and the residences of the elders.
As you come down from the top, there were two staircases to the left and right of the main stairs.
If you move towards the right staircase, you would find the residence of the core disciples.
There could be 10 core disciples at a time and each had his/her own separate room with a bathroom with a proper draining system.
In front of the disciples residence, was a courtyard with a small elevated stage on which they could exchange pointers or do duels.
There was also a dining hall in which all of them gathered to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The left staircase led you to the beast breeding/housing building. This was the place where all disciples kept their beasts or spirit beasts to be taken care of.
It was compulsory for the outer disciples to put their beasts in that place but the core disciples could keep their beasts with them if they were able to keep them under control.
Now if you were to go further down the main stairs and turn to take the left staircase, you would reach the common area where all the guards, servants, and outer disciples reside.
Although the guards, servants, and outer disciples had separate buildings, a single person had to share a room with 3 others.
Like the core disciples, the outer disciples also had a dining hall and a stage to fight on but did not have private bathrooms.
They had multiple stalls that were built a little far away from their residences. so they had to go out and do their business.
For baths, they had two big public baths that used sunstone to heat up the freezing cold water that was purified by the purifying formations.
The same formations were used to provide everyone with drinkable water.
I was really amazed to find out all of this new information that was never mentioned in the original novel.
All of this really made me realize how amazing the gods who made this place are.
(A/N: This is a little of what was going inside my head)
