Two years have passed, and I have gradually adapted to my new environment. I'm grateful my parents didn't pressure me to remember my past. They embraced my new self and attitude. When I'm with them, I can openly express my true self. However, when I'm with my cousins, I sense that they are suspicious of me. I don't mind, though.
And regarding my enemy. I easily take them down without them noticing. I fucking gain recognition also from my Emperor Uncle. Right now, I have built my troops and empire. I also have a lot of branches of my business. This is the life I've been wanting.
"Your Highness, Prince Yulysses is waiting for you in the receiving area." My butler Lanze spoke behind me. I lazily stood up and fixed myself. Then, I walked to the receiving area.
"Why are you here asshole?"
My voice echoed throughout the room. Yulysses was sitting comfortably in my favorite swivel chair, which I had crafted myself. He turned around to face me.
"Father asked you to create a chair like this for him, but you always decline," he said. I sneered and sat down on the couch, reaching for a bottle of wine and an empty glass to fill it.
"I don't want anything similar to my things. Just tell my uncle that," I replied.
"What about me? Can't you make one for me as well? I'm your favorite cousin, right?" He said, looking at me with a grin. I shot him a disgusted glance.
"I never said that bullshit. " I hand him a glass of wine, and he gladly accepts it.
"What are you doing here, for real?" I heard him have a heavy sigh.
"My father arranged a marriage for me, and the worst part is that I am paired with that ugly creature." I couldn't help but laugh at the way he said it. He pouted at me and glared as if I were the one to blame.
An arranged marriage, huh? Those two words never seem to fade away, no matter which dimension I end up in. I was once paired with one of my father's friends, but I declined the proposal, explaining that I wasn't comfortable with such an arrangement. Fortunately, they didn't force me; that's one thing I appreciate about them. However, they did give me an ultimatum—those old fogies. If I reach the age of 28 and haven't found a partner, they will arrange another marriage for me. I assured them that neither of those scenarios would happen because I wwouldn'tbe alive then. I have no intention of entering into a relationship here. Not ever.
"Why? What's wrong with Lady Tatiana? She's pretty, brave, elegant and—" I was cut off when he said.
"And a crazy bitch."
I shook my head as I put down my glass on the table. Lady Tatiana is a crazy bitch. I will admit that I despise a woman who sticks to a man like a leech. Especially those so-called obsessed girls, like eww man, you need to be admitted to a mental hospital. If I were in my cousin's shoes, I would surely kill that lady.
" Just give it a try man then if it doesn't work, slit her throat. Easy peasy."
"Who's gonna slit a throat? I'm in."
Yulysses and I turned our heads toward the door as a tall, muscular, tanned man walked into the room. He had sleek black hair and a pair of bottle-green eyes. He is one of the friends I made in this new world. His name is Duke Archious Beaumont, the only heir to the Beaumont Empire.
"Arch man! You came. Ang akala ko ay hindi ka na naman sisipot." Yulysses said. He approached Arch and did the brotherly thing. I did the same and sat down again.
"What's with you two? Did you decide to turn my mansion into your hangout?" They didn't respond.
"Thaddeus, man! Long time no see. How's being a Duke?" Archius patted my shoulder, and I nodded. He plopped down on the couch and reached for a glass.
"Still being a Duke. Now tell me, bastards, why are you here?"
They just ate and smiled mischievously. Not again.
"Pass," I said to them immediately.
"Come on, man, take a break," Archius said, and Yulysses chimed in.
"True, don't get your ass stuck in your business. You won't lose a million."
I was about to decline again when the door flew open. My mother walked in with a tray of desserts. She smiled at the boys.
"Good to see you here, boys. I brought desserts." She placed the tray on the table and walked over to me with a plate of chocolate mousse cake. My eyes lit up at the sight of the cake. I'm sorry, but I still love chocolate; I can't get enough of it. I quickly took the plate and tasted it. I heard my mom chuckle, but I didn't look up at her. I was too focused on my cake.
"Whoa, you haven't changed, Deus. You still love chocolate mousse, especially when Aunt Dianna makes it," Archiuss said as he licked cake off his thumb.
"Shut it," I growled, feeling embarrassed.
"Don't tease my boy, Arc. That's a good thing! Anyway, I heard you all want to go clubbing?"
We all heard her words. I looked at them with wide eyes, and they stared back at me. This was one of the things my mom disliked—us going out to clubs while flirting with girls. I know she can be a bit old-fashioned, but she is a good mother.
"A-ahm, no, Aunt. We just want to hang out with Thaddeus," Yulysses said nervously.
"Yeah, we also planned to visit him," Archiuss added in defense. I sighed and shook my head.
"Mom, rest assured we won't go clubbing tonight," I said, and she turned her head to look at me, raising her left eyebrow suspiciously.
"Glad to hear that. Alright, I'll head out then. My friends are coming. See ya, boys." She exited the receiving room, and we felt relieved.
"We should be more careful next time," I told them, and both agreed.
"I don't want to hear my mom's lecture when I get home," Yulysses said.
"That's true, man. My dad will be furious if he finds out we went out."
I smiled and finished the cake.
"Let's just reschedule it. I have so much work to do."
