"Dad must be expecting me," Christopher said calmly, holding her gaze. "I'll go speak with him first."
He turned to leave.
Gloria felt extremely annoyed but couldn't stop him as she knew how furious Adrian was. If she kept Adrian waiting for too long, his rage would only grow.
She brought Christopher to her bedroom to caution him to deal with his father carefully. She was afraid that Christopher's apathy and carelessness would fuel Adrian's rage.
It was the last thing she wanted to see was them fighting. Pamela would only have more reasons to mock her.
"Christopher, son…" She called out to him anxiously. "Be careful with your father. He is furious with you. Do not lose your cool in front of him."
She took his hand in hers and pleaded with him. Her worry was visible on her face.
Christopher's expression softened. He put his hand on hers and nodded reassuringly. "Have some rest, Mom. Everything is going to be fine."
