Christopher took the phone and checked the number. It was undoubtedly his phone number, but he was resolute in asserting that he had not sent that particular message.
"No, I didn't send her this message," he said sternly, putting the phone down.
"Is that so?" The officer scoffed, his eyebrows arching. "You are still lying! The message was delivered from your phone number, which you just confirmed. But you are still denying it!"
"I am not lying," Christopher snapped. His frustration was palpable. He went on to emphasize, "I agree that the message went from my number, but I didn't text her. Why would I ask her to go there when we could meet her at my office? This is absurd!"
The officer responded with a condescending smirk, "I see. You will now claim that your phone has gone missing. Am I right?"
