With the high priests leading our procession into the city, The hustle and bustle fell silent. This silence was in reverence for what a large mass of pilgrims meant. On the streets, large crowds formed on either sides to behold the procession.
As people began to gather on either side of us, the high priests slowed down and began chanting. Their voices filled the streets, causing all to halt whatever it was they had been doing. Additionally, people on the sides began to fall to their knees in prayer.
I won't lie, the sight brought tears to my eyes. I was reminded of my time on Earth as I young man venturing to Vatican City for the first time. The experience was breathtaking to say the least.
I previously mentions I worked at a Catholic church growing up. Masse was always spoken in Latin, even though very few people actually spoke it. It was with this parish I went on my pilgrimage down the pilgrim's path Via Podiensis.
