Chapter 97 - Chapter 96- Ancestral Declaration

Still seeing us there, Douglas spoke in elvish,

"From the gaps in your report, I knew something more happened. Something very sensitive and was purposely left out of the records?"

"Yes, this is something directly related to all elven clans. I did not see it to be appropriate to make such private and confidential matters a commonly known fact. Here, a magoi crystal containing everything I will tell you now. Please deliver this to you clan so they may also know what is going on."

After saying this much and handing over the magoi crystal which recorded everything I wanted the elven clans to know. I began to tell Douglas (with Ivy and Katya as my witness) what transpired between me and Elder Aliandorith. I also mentioned me becoming the dungeon master resulting in me taking the dungeon away. After mentioning this much, I waited for Douglas to finish contemplating everything I had just said before I dropped the next bomb.

"With the dungeon in hand, the elven races I have restored, and will restore in the future, I have come to a inform you of my decision. I will build an organization meant for the sole preservation and restoration of all elven clans both surviving and lost. Naturally, I will revive the clan of my ancestor."

"To do so, I will no doubt offend many of the bigger organizations who have been exploiting our elven clans whenever they get the chance. Additionally, when completing my inheritance, my ancestor had charged me with an undertaking which requires I either build a nation or an organization. Of course, I don't think an elven nation is the best choice."

"Too many will see it as an attempt to exert dominion over the other races. You and I both know humans hate us for our longer lifespans and innate magic ability. Anyhow, I wanted to inform you of this since, I have a feeling in the not-so-distant future, a major power struggle will involve multiple nations if not continents."

Douglas sat there and listened in silence until I was finished. He understood as a living ancestor, it was my responsibility to ensure the survival and prosperity of all elvenkind. He also understood why I did not want it to be known a new dungeon master.

Let's not forget said dungeon master was an Ancestor elf at that. This would cause organizations like the Tower of Infinity to hunt me down and attempt to usurp control over it. Especially if they were to find out the Founder of the Tower had been a wraith in the very dungeon I now control! All hell would break loose.

Lastly, Douglas as an Elder understood the greatest desire for all elves. It was not to coexist with the races as solitary communities which avoided conflict. It was to have a land of our own, where all elves could live and thrive. One time, we had that until the demonic dragons came and destroyed the elven continent. It now sits at the bottom of the ocean controlled by Jormungandr and Ouroboros, the leviathan harbingers of elven destruction.

Now that I am telling him, I intend on bring the hope and dream of all elves to life in this lifetime. There's no doubt I had officially earned Douglas' allegiance. As proof, Douglas rose from his seat and made his way to where I was standing. Afterwards, kneeling down with is face bowed down to the floor he spoke,

"As the Ancestor had bid, so shall the children of light follow. I Elder Dalendarra swear undying fealty to Ancestor Yuriy and his clan. May the living Ancestor restore unto the children of Ohmdorra the long-lost paradise!"

As a result, The elements began to fill the room where I stood. With the Elder Spirits as our witness, a brand of many colors was placed upon Douglas' soul. Meanwhile, a master brand was placed on my soul.

Once the soul contract was formed, no one, not even the contract master may break the contract. To do so would invoke the wrath of the Elder Spirits! They will evoke immediate destruction unto the treacherous soul. As the contract was completely formed, I help Douglas stand and address him,

"Elder Dalendarra, please rise. It is unbecoming for an Elder to easily bow down to another."

"I understand, Ancestor; however, it is only right for this junior to do so in the presence of my Ancestor."

Douglas replied stubbornly. No matter, I am glad to have made a new ally with a sister tribe. After having Douglas sit back down, I mentioned my next desire,

"If possible, please inform your clan, in a weeks' time I and my kin will pay our respects to you clan."

"Certainly! I will inform my clan to make all the necessary preparations. We look forward to having you in our settlement."

Douglas said. After exchanging a few more pleasantries, we headed out of Douglas' office and met up with Anansi and Cavilhaugh who awaited us at the receptionist's desk. Seeing our arrival, Anansi spoke up,

"I see you have finished making plans with the Hall Master, right?"

Anansi always knew something was going down. It is a shame he was not an elf, or I would more than happily fill him in. However, now was not the time to involve him and Cavilhaugh in the plan.

I mean... I do not have the power, nor have we spent enough time together for then to join in on our plotting and scheming (for the benefit of all elfdom). Regardless, I grinned and nodded my head, but said nothing. As a response, Anansi grinned and winked. Seeing we were all here, James spoke up about our reward,

"Okay folks! As the Hall Master already informed you, you are now Silver Rank adventurers! Here are your new guild badges, wear them with pride!"

"Second, since you have not only completed the B Class task in less than 100 days but have also handled completely separate B class missions. The first being the elimination of a large bandit brigade near Breilan. And the second being initializing the revitalization the Breilan."

"For you hard work, you have been awarded 3 times the rewards you originally have earned. Your total earnings are 350,000 mc and 4 tomes of your choosing from the Guild Archives in the capital. Please write down what tomes you want, and we will have them sent here for you to pick up when you take on your next mission."

After hearing James, Anansi and Cavilhaugh wrote down the tombs they needed. I on the other hand would not need another tome as I have uncle's training and journal. Let's not forget the current situation my training has come to. As for Ivy, she didn't really care for tomes.

Thus, we had Katya write down 2 tomes she wanted for her training. Afterwards we began dividing the money up between the five of us. Once Anansi and Cavilhaugh got their share, we decided to that a three week break before taking on any other tasks. From this point forward, all the tasks we take will be similar to our most recent dungeon crawl. Nodding their heads, Anansi and Cavilhaugh left the guild hall and enjoyed their well-deserved break.

Ivy, Katya, and I headed back home with the carriage and golems. Since Katya was an Alchemic Craftsman, it only made sense for the golems to be with her so they may be repaired and upgraded. Additionally, she was allowed to make any modifications she saw fit as long as their base performance was not changed too drastically.

It took us 10 minutes to arrive home after a long journey. To be honest, I didn't want to go anywhere; however, there was so much to do and little time to do it all. Once we unloaded all are belonging, I immediately headed straight to the forge with all our equipment.

After repairing our armor and weapons, I took out the Gem of the Doom Bringer which I was awarded and needed to feed souls into. While in the dungeon, I had long met the requirement of 1000 mournful souls, but never got the chance to activate the gemstone. Now I had that chance. As I prepare to use the gem, a system message appeared,

"You are about to use Gem of the Doom Bringer. Please note, once used this item will no longer exist. User will also no longer be able to use any equipment with a Moral Affinity: Good even if you are aligned with this affinity in the future. Do you wish to continue?"

Seeing this message, I reviewed my stats one last time,

I was not at all surprised by the changes as way too much has happened while in the dungeon. Most importantly, I now have a special trait regarding my moral character. No matter what I do now, there's no turning back.

No longer delaying, I select yes in the message box which then caused the gem to slowly implode. What remained was a black sphere of energy awaiting my next action. Taking out another set of armor with a separate plasmasaber, I placed the black sphere on top of the equipment.

I had been working on anther set of armor for this purpose. The sphere of energy then sank into the set of armor and sword which then began changing entirely. I knew the process would take a few days to complete, so I left the equipment there in the forge and headed out for a well needed bath.
