No longer concerning myself with the defense of my stronghold, I flew through the gate leading to the volcanic area. When I passed through the gate, I was amazed by the sight before me. The place reminded me of an esoteric realm of inferno mentioned in one of my favorite games.
The sky was as crimson as blood with thick black smoke clouds shrouding the little lights in the sky. Thunder resounded in this accursed place and bright red lightning flashed over the sky. Oceans of bloody lava flowed everywhere, and if my forces didn't know how to use magoi to fly, they would have been doomed from the start. Jagged mountains with sanguine peaks pierced through the lava like blades viciously ripping through a mournful still breathing corpse, fountaining crimson magma from their peaks which flowed into the lava oceans.
As I surveyed the area, I noticed massive citadels with flaming demonic orbs illuminating the area around them. These citadels must be key points in this territory. It would be in my best interest to first understand the enemy I am to face before releasing the floodgates binding my wrathful blood revelry. I order a detachment of 10,000 light armored warriors to break up into 50 teams, one for each citadel.
They were to scout out the area, gathering logistical data regarding enemy fortification, number of enemy troops, and vital supply caches. I wanted everything! Even information on potential moles I could use within enemy ranks. From there I lead my remaining force to occupy the large mountain with the portal entrance. This would be the best option for a basecamp.
Half a day in this territory passed when my scouts returned with intel and a few captured dwellers. Seeing the scout leaders approach with captives, waited silently as they reported.
"My lord, we have observed the citadels and captured what appeared to be a few inhabitances of this realm. The citadels are foreign to this territory and the creatures which pour out of them have enslaved the original people of this area."
A scout leader said, bringing forward a scrawny sinew of a being. The being appeared to be a native thinner than a sinew. They had a salt and pepper bird's nest for hair atop their heads. Pale red-ish gray skin, and big, round, overly dilated eyes. The scout leader commanded to skinny fellow,
"You! Tell my lord what you told us but should a drop of falsehood slither from your lips, know they will be the last words you utter".
Fearful of the threatening outcome, the native began telling us what they knew, saying.
"Certainly… I am originally from this land. Before the spires blanketed the land it was a normal place with a few volcanoes but nothing like this. When the first waves of abominations came, they slaughtered everyone and everything in their path. Those who fought back and survived the first wave were captured by the second wave and used as living sacrifices for some evil ritual. After 10 days, the realm came to be as you see it after a countless number of people were sacrificed…"
Well… that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. No wonder the trial has been punishing me for strengthening the locals. They are meant to be food for the core nothing more!
Annoyed by the current situation, I had the scouts release the captives, and follow them without being noticed to see where they'd run to. After a few hours, the scouts returned and confirmed what the one honest captive said, while the other 4 captives were spies and were killed before they could utter a single word to their masters. Leaving 100,000 troops to guard the portal, we began truly our conquest of this territory.
As my battalion approached the first citadel, I noticed a forcefield similar to the one in our territory. This barrier was covering only the area around this citadel and nowhere else. The same applied to the other citadels as it would seem, I guess. The barrier reinforced my idea these spires are key locations. And it is with great pleasure, I destroy them!!
Calling my forces to move back 5km as I approached, evoking my spell Elemental Fallout. The last time I used this spell, I needed a conduit to house the dense magoi. Now after my breakthrough, I am able to gather the needed magoi towards my palm as a multi-colored orb of resplendent light formed and slowly took a physical form.
After 3 minutes, a small chrysalis appeared floating in my hand. Next, I channeled my bloodline radiation and radioactive bloodlust into the chrysalis. My actions led to the chrysalis expanding to the size of a 3m long spear.
Still not satisfied with the results, I tried adding my aura to the chrysalis spear, and noticed a curious sight, the spear hungrily accepted my aura as it began to change from a multi-colored gem into a light absorbing black spear radiating a shadowy fog all over. Pleased with this weapon of mass destruction, I ascended directly above the citadel's accursed orb. Once I was about 3 km above the citadel I mumble to myself.
"Filthy existence, be wiped clean from this place!"
As a response to my mumblings, the spear shook and started absorbing the black smoke in the sky as I held it up. Noticing this, I waited until I was holding the embodiment of annihilation. After the Spear had its fill, I threw it downwards towards the citadel. Like a black thunderbolt it descended upon the citadel, splitting the accursed orb, and piercing through the spire until,
BOOOOM!!
Unlike the last time I used this spell, the citadel was sucked into a black hole. This black hole continued to expand, absorb everything before exploding. A spherical shockwave spread out destroying everything in its path as a result.
After spreading 2km, only a void crater with a radius of 2km in all directions remained, not even lava was spared as nothing could exist near this crater. Not satisfied with this display of destruction, I had my forces move to the next citadel which we captured leaving only a sea of blood. In this fashion we conquered 45 citadels within 3 days. Some of them were left intact while others were nothing but craters now.
The last 5 citadel are much more fortified than the previous 45, but that did not matter to me. Armed with Atomicsaber shroud in one hand and my pyrosaber in the other, I shot waves of aura infused saber slashes towards the current citadel we're sieging.
The saber waves ripped through the shield as if it didn't even exist. It then proceeded to reap the lives of the enemy forces. After an hour of laying siege on this spire, it too fell into my hands.
Allowing my forces to rest for a day, I proceeded to the next citadel where Elemental Fallout was used, leaving nothing but a crater. Not stopping I destroyed the next two citadels in the same fashion. Only, I had to obliterate wave after wave of flying monstrosities before I could reach the altitude I needed to cast the spell.
These creatures were completely revolting as they had the appearance of an assortment of limbs. They had an appearance with no skin. Only deep red flesh, veins, and blood oozing out like filthy puss covered them.
The creature had no eyes or nose, but not that it matter. I had vaporized everything with extreme prejudice using Ra's Domain. The domain spell now had a total of 12 stellar core, two radioactive green stellar cores, and one stellar core for each of the elements. Using Ra's Domain Everything that approached me while I was charging Elemental Fallout only provided more energy for me to use… thank you for your patronage, filthy creatures.
With a resounding BOOM, the second to last spire was destroyed. I returned to my troops who were now ready to make our stand against the final and greatest citadel. This Spire will not be destroyed like the other but repurposed as the stronghold controlling this area. With this thought, I order my men forward to our last battle in this place.
