Chapter 59 - Chapter 58- March of Death Part 2

Clearing my mind of the hidden rage, I focused on the quest information we received in Breilan. According to Lucas' information, there are a few of these tainted monsters. They seem to have developed intelligence and guard the floor guardian night and day.

These creatures will not stray too far from the floor's core. Instead, their mindless ilk will swarm us like a never-ending wave of zombies. Understanding the real fight is about to commence, I looked towards Cavilhaugh,

"Cavilhaugh, release the beast!"

Hearing me shout, Cavilhaugh began to chant. (Much like the bandit leader who died on the 1st floor,) Cavilhaugh is a summoner, but decided on studying 2 schools of magic. His primary focus is Battle Synergy, a subclass of the school of Mysticism. Meanwhile, his secondary focus is Primal Summoning a subclass of the school of Conjuration.

Primal Summoning focuses on evoking the assistance of elemental spirit beasts and higher-level spirits such as greater spirits. If the mage is among the most talented, they can summon Spirit Kings. It is even theorized if a summoner reaches a high enough stage, they could also summon one of the Elder Spirits!

As Cavilhaugh began to chant, his magoi slowly created a magic circle directly above the party. His chanting continued for about 2 minutes when the magic circle imploded. The small implosion created a portal to which a flaming spirit directly shot from, flying up into the air.

Once it reached a high enough place, flames flashed revealing a valiant armored spirit with wings of fire, a Valkyrie. Valkyries are higher spirits, each having their own elemental affinity. The one summoned by Cavilhaugh is a fire type wielding a greatsword made of pure fire. The spirit descended towards the ground and flapped its wings once. That one flap gave birth to an enormous wave of fire which swept up everything in its wake.

Naturally, having such a devastating helper comes at a price. Cavilhaugh's magoi reserves were draining faster than he could keep up with. It was for this purpose, prior to entering the dungeon I had given him a special pair of gloves.

These gloves were woven out of luminian silver and Mammoth Moth silk. When weaving these gloves, I used 3 times more luminian silver than Mammoth Moth silk so the amount of magoi at Cavilhaugh's disposal will be much greater than without the gloves. Additionally, Ra's domain was supplying both Cavilhaugh and his Valkyrie with magoi, reducing his magoi burden if only but a little.

With the help of the summoned Valkyrie, we pushed the waves of monsters for another 3 days. 8 days after entering the 3rd floor, we have been fighting non-stop waves of monsters. Even with our combined arsenal, the battle seemed to never end.

My Ra's domain, the summoned Valkyrie, Anansi's advancement, Ivy's bulldozer vines, and all three of Katya's golems firing ray after ray of deadly magoi laid waste to everything. Still, there seems to be no end to the monsters. Originally, we had planned to reach our target location in 12 days. Sadly, with this kind of resistance, I am not sure we will be able to keep to that timetable. With little to no choice, I spoke solemnly,

"Everyone, prepare to use your best defensive abilities. I am going to use my last resort spell. Ra's domain will not drop but it will not be enough to prevent all forms of damage from reaching here."

We had all planned to withhold last resort abilities in the unlikely case of entering life-threatening straits. Cavilhaugh's is the Valkyrie summoning, Anansi's involves enemy shadow manipulation, Katya's has something to do with her golems fusing together, and Ivy's seems to be shrouded in mystery. When I asked privately about it, she replied,

"Love, I would like to not use it if I don't have to since you might look at me in a different light. However, if we are in a situation where using it is unavoidable, then I will."

That left me with an ominous feeling as if her last ditch ability was some type of super transformation which at the end kills the user or something like that. Either way, I am even more curious about what she is trying to hide regarding her power. Regardless, I will use my last resort since it is an AOE attack that will hopefully buy us a few hours to rest.

Within my self-created arcane art Elemental saber, I devised a spell called Elemental Fallout. This spell was embodiment all 10 elemental magoi attributes. This ability could be listed as a peak Expert level spell. Although, I have yet to fully confirm its full potential.

Either way, this is what we needed at the moment. Evoking magoi to converge on me, I took out uncle's sword, Primal Contemplation. Since the weapon was made of pure magoi, it was the perfect conduit to channel the evoked magoi into.

After 15 seconds, I began to shape the evoked magoi all over the sword. Here, it formed a 3-meter-long spear with the sword's blade at the tip. Still, I continued to channel evoked magoi into it.

After another 45 seconds, I reached the limit I could channel. And yet, I still pressed forward by compressing the already channeled magoi to make room for even more. After another 30 seconds, I could feel the elemental spear quake and vibrate as it signaled to me it could take no more. (It's time to bring death!!)

From here, I used wind magoi to ascend into the sky until I reached a pretty decent height. Without holding back, I evoked Nether Flarebolt and encased the elemental spear in it. With this I launched the spear towards the most densely pack area and swiftly descended to the ground to reinforce Ra's domain.

The moment I touched the ground, I giant multicolored mushroom cloud exploded about half a kilometer away from my party and me. I hastily reinforced Ra's domain with my swiftly recovering magoi as we watched the explosion in horror. Cavilhaugh conjured a dome of stone and steel directly under Ra's Domain. Ivy created an extremely thick dome of earthen vines under Cavilhaugh's dome.

Geoff created a magoi shield dome around each of us. Meanwhile, Anansi used our shadows to create a forcefield of sorts around each person. For 10 minutes the shockwave beat upon our defense.

As the explosion ensued, it slowly stripping away at the stone, steel, and vines barriers. All that remained were only Ra's domain, Anansi's personal shadow cloaks, and Goeff magoi shield wall dome which wavering but not destroyed. Still, we resisted and I somewhat regretted endangering our lives more than the enemies we faced.

When everything settled down, our defenses were dropped, and a remarkable sight came into view. Smoke, magoi particles and baleful energy whirled and howled through the air. Large patches of fire wafting in the windless air of the enclosed dungeon floor.

Despite appearing to have a roofless sky and artificial sun would float by, and periodically would turn into 4 moons with stars. this dungeon floor was indeed an enclosed space where my spell may have killed everyone too weak to withstand it.. Within 100km all was destroyed leaving behind patches of molten dungeon floor.

"Oh my… This is Kingdom level destruction! What are you planning to do with that kind of spell, Yuriy?"

Cavilhaugh asked, pale and panting for breath as the backlash from my spell forced him to cancel the summoned Valkyrie.

"Don't worry… huff…this will only… be used against…huff… monsters…huff!" I replied, mentally drained from everything but was able to stay on my feet. My ability for destruction was noticed and I received the following message,

"Congratulations, you have unlocked the achievement: Doomsday! This is obtained by creating an attack with the same if not greater might of an atomic bomb! You have unlocked the special condition: Uranium Fever!!"
