It was after we came back from our adventures at the Light Elf settlement. By this point Katya had been practicing the kid's version of mana manipulation. Further, I felt her current condition was safe enough for Race Restoration. That right! The very same ritual that made me an Ancestral Elf, was to be performed on Katya.
Unlike my case though, Katya would be experiencing a factory reset of sorts. The pain she was going to experience would not doubt be great. Therefore, I made sure to modify the ritual circle used. I also set out to capture a different magic herb that would not attempt to kill its capture. Or at least, that was the plan
I didn't need to do so mainly because after examining the blood essence, I noticed the blood was extremely pure. Thus We were able to skip an entire day and a half worth of work. Even better, when the ritual began, Katya didn't experience and pain.
