At the academy campus, Mai was training with her katana.
Mai: I'm worried for Akane. I have never seen her before with that depression.
She imagined Akane happy and smiling with her childhood friends, also with her classmates.
Mai: But recently she was more worried about Akatsuki-kun. Maybe?
At that moment, in the abyss, Kurobe and Yuki were in front of a Medusa. They were ready to fight.
Kurobe: If that monster is like that mythology, we must avoid her stare or we'll be turning into stone!
Yuki: Yeah, I know something about that.
The medusa slide from the ground like a snake. Kurobe began shooting with his shotgun but the medusa was too fast. It used its tail to hit him.
Yuki: Kurobe!
She created ice shards and shot to the medusa. It was few injured.
Yuki: It wasn't enough?
The medusa stared at them, they dodged at time.
They noticed some adventurers were turned into stones since years ago.
Yuki: (Surprised) Are they?
Kurobe: Some adventures, poor bastards.
The medusa moved fast and stared at him. Kurobe saw it and moved away.
Yuki: (Worried) Kurobe!
Kurobe realized his left arm turned into stone.
Kurobe: It can turn us into stone by some seconds?
Yuki: Watch out! It will turn us into stone in a minute!
The medusa attacked with its tail to Kurobe but Yuki moved to his front.
Yuki: Ice barrier!
She created an ice wall to save Kurobe.
Yuki: Are you okey?
Kurobe: But you?
He realized Yuki has her arm and leg right turned into stone.
Yuki: No! My ice is clear against its eyes!
Kurobe: Move! I'll handle that monster!
Yuki: But you have to be a safe distant to avoid its stare!
Suddenly the medusa screamed and more monsters came.
Kurobe: It asks monsters to fight?
Yuki: Watch out! They are high level monsters!
Kurobe: I have only an arm, so, let's try something else!
But the medusa moved and catched him to see him, his two weapons were dropped.
Kurobe: Shit!
The monsters appeared and attacked Kurobe. He was injured with many scars and feeling pain.
Yuki: (Worried) Kurobe!
Kurobe was angry and suddenly he moved back. Then he felt more pain in his body and screamed, Yuki noticed his behavior.
Kurobe: GRRRRRRRR! (Screaming)
He took the chain spear from his right hand. As his hands and head were boiling.
Kurobe: (In rage) AAAAAAAAHH! (Launching his spear at long distant) DIEEEEEE!
Kurobe used his chain spear and pierced all the monsters in a single move.
Yuki: (Amazed) What? His spear… is like it was alive!
Kurobe in rage, pierced medusa's chest with his spear and brought it close to him. Burning its eyes with flames from his hand. The medusa screamed in pain after being blind.
Yuki: Kurobe! What's happening to you?
His hands were burning, also his head, as they were without skin. Kurobe turned into demon reaper like the one before. And he was hanging the medusa with his hand on flame.
Kurobe: (With dismal voice) INFERNO!
The medusa was being covered in hot flames until becoming cinder. The medusa was killed after being burnt.
Yuki: That was amazing!
Then Yuki's arm and leg turned back to normal. Also Kurobe's part became normal again, but he was very exhausted after that.
Kurobe: (Very exhausted) What was that?
Yuki: (Coming to him) Kurobe, are you okey?
Kurobe: Yeah, some how.
Yuki: That demonic power… how? It's like from hell…
Kurobe: I… was cursed by Satan.
Yuki was very amazed by hearing that.
Yuki: But then… you threw away your humanity!
Kurobe: Yeah, I don't feel like human. This demonic power increased my skills, but also I feel a monster from my inside.
Yuki: Why you made the pact with Satan?
Kurobe: I lost my family, my party left me. So I decided to finish my life as turning me as a demon. I'll die by the orders from the Holly church.
Yuki: But you're not like a demon right now.
Kurobe: But what if I turn into that demon?

Kurobe: Fine, also I won't be Satan's puppet, I'll find a way to avoid being controlled by this demonic power.

They realized they were in a rocky valley.

Later, Kurobe and Yuki were camping in a cave.
Kurobe: My party should think I'm dead. That's why I won't return to them. I have to live alone because I became a demon.
Yuki: (Worried) Kurobe. Are you sure?
Kurobe: I gained a great power but with a high cost. I don't know if I should live because I rejected my humanity.
Yuki: (Taking his hand) Kurobe, I feel the same, I'm not full human, because of my secret power. We're in the same case. That's why I want to be at your side. Let's overpass this problem together.
Kurobe: Yuki, thanks. Maybe we should go to other place, away of this stupid war.
At next day, Kurobe and Yuki were walking through the rocky valley.
Yuki: (Sweating) It's too hot today.
Kurobe: Yeah, why don't you make an iceberg and eat ice cream.
Yuki: Are you making fun of me?
Kurobe: It was just an idea.
Suddenly some demons appeared, surrounding them.
Demon 1: There they are! The human and the prisoner!
Kurobe: Great, more demons!
Demon 1: So you're Satan-sama's experiment.
Kurobe: Experiment?
Demon 2: It's hard to believe Satan-sama chose a weak human for his war.
Demon 3: He believes we're not strong to win this war against the humans.
Demon 1: Let's kill this human to show him we're better than this!
Kurobe: (Angry) Experiment? He used me? His army attacked my party?
Demon 1: Hahahaha! And why makes you think he chose a weak human? He expected to choose a human as part of his army. But first you have to be tested of your courage, but you preferred die. So let's make your wish true.
Yuki: Satan planned all this? How dare he uses humans?
Kurobe was in rage. The demons were ready to attack with their weapons.
Demon 1: Enough talk! Let's…
Suddenly his spear pierced that demon's head and ripped from its body. The other demons were scared to see that.
Yuki: Kurobe!
Kurobe used his shotgun very fast, and kill more demons instantly.
Yuki: Kurobe, you killed demons, despite being a demon.
Kurobe: Damn! (Feeling strong pain from his body) Agh! It hurts!
Yuki: Kurobe?
Demon 2: It can't be! He was cursed and can control it?
Demon 3: Let's kill him!
The demons went to attack but Kurobe reacted and grabbed them from their necks and crushed them to the ground.
Kurobe: (In rage) What do you know about this?
Demon 2: Fuck you!
Suddenly Kurobe burnt it instantly. The other demon was scared.
Kurobe: Now you tell me!
Demon 3: Satan-sama was choosing species to unite our army, so he choose a human to see if he's worthy to join us…
Kurobe: He what? (Screaming and killing the other demon in the same way) SHIT!
Yuki: Kurobe!
Kurobe: (Angry and in pain) He knew my party will go to one of his lair? He knew I'll accept his pact?
Kurobe's head was boiling, also his hands.
Kurobe: That pain… it's like that demon… is consuming me! Ah! (With his hand on his forehead) Agh! Shit!
Yuki: Kurobe?
Kurobe: (Suddenly laughing maniacally) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'LL… KILL… EVERYONE!
He was nearly turning into that flame demon, but suddenly Yuki embraced him.
Yuki: Kurobe, stop!
Kurobe: Yuki… (Back to normal) What happened to me?
Yuki: Kurobe, don't let that inner demon possess you!
Kurobe: (Feeling weak and heavily breathing) It's painful!
At the academy, Mai keeps training.
Mai: I have to become stronger, enough to support Akane!
Suddenly she saw someone walking. It was Iori.
Iori: (In low voice) Good, good! Now Akatsuki is gone! It matters of time to make Akane mine!
Mai: Yamazaki?
Iori: (Scared) Amakusa! Hi!
Mai: Why are you walking here?
Iori: Just taking a break.
Mai: Don't waste more time, how about if you train with me?
Iori: Sorry, but you're a higher level than me, so I pass.
Mai: Well, don't forget we have training early next day.

Iori leaves very nervously.

At other side in the academy; Akane was entering to Kurobe's room.

She realized there was a photo. It was Kurobe's family photo.
Akane: (Checking the photo) Akatsuki-kun's family? I heard he lost all his family in an accident provoked by demons. He suffered a lot by losing his parents and his baby sibling. Why he had to endurance a lot to be in a dangerous situation?
Suddenly Captain Kurosaki and some servants came too.
Captain Kurosaki: Sakurada? What are you doing here?
Akane: Captain Kurosaki! I was visiting Akatsuki-kun's room.
Captain Kurosaki: Sorry for saying this, but you need to leave. We'll take away Akatsuki's stuffs.
Akane: But why?
Captain Kurosaki: This is an order from the Holly church heads. We can't be slowing by the death of a member of the heroes. You must understand there are more important things to worry. We must win this violent war against Satan and his army.
Akane: (Sad) I know.
Captain Kurosaki: (To the servants) Take these things.

Akane was walking but keeps the photo of Kurobe's family.

At other side, Kurobe was weak but fine.

Yuki: You must be careful, if you use that power again, you will be demon form forever!
Kurobe: Right, so I'm going to find a way to control this power and overpass this curse!
Yuki: Kurobe, what are you going to do?
Kurobe: I won't be fooled anymore by Satan and his army! I'll hunt all of them!
Yuki: A half demon hunting demons? That's weird.

Then Kurobe and Yuki were heading through the rocky valley until at the end there was a village. That would be their next way.
