Chapter 88 - Just Lie

"You see that goth little boy up there?" Emile asked.

Blood burst up from the ground, he threw the blanket off of him and exploded towards Emile and Willow.

"Hey Spright!" He yelled over the vast expanse of snow and ice.

Emile stopped trekking through the snow and waited for Blood to come to them. But Willow took another step forward.

She held her hand up and essence swirled around her palm. Moments later, she snatched her golden hammer from her soul and brandished it to the side.

"Um—Willow?" Emile asked as she advanced forward.

Willow slammed her hammer into the snow and propelled herself towards Blood. She landed just shy of Blood and slid across the ice while she raised her hammer behind her.

In one fluid motion, Willow slid next to Blood and dropped the hammer behind her back. The hammer swung beneath her then cracked skyward, slamming into Blood's chest like an uppercut.

Blood's body snapped back from the whiplash, he flew off the hammer's tip and soared through the air until he crashed into the snow covered mound.

"Be careful, Spright! I've seen his picture before! He's a wanted criminal!" Willow yelled back.

"I knew that…" Emile mumbled to himself, "probably should have remembered."

Blood pushed himself out of his snowy enclosure and looked between Emile and Willow. A drop of blood spilled over his lip and ran down his chin.

"What are you doing?!" He erupted.

But Willow ignored him and slammed into the ground once more. She appeared above Blood in a matter of seconds and wound her shoulder back, she was going to crush Blood.

Panic flashed in Blood's eyes. Like a madman, he ripped his blood from his body and popped like a balloon. A red mist splattered Willow's dress and then condensed into a crystal wall before Blood.

Willow's arm exploded and the golden hammer instantly shattered Blood's shield and crashed into the snow. A cloud of icicles painted the air around them while Blood narrowly ran past Willow.

"Get this psycho away from me!" Blood screamed as he ran to Emile.

Willow hammer-jumped backwards and landed directly on Blood. Her heels dug into his back and pushed him into the snow. Blood's lifeless body slid across the snow and arrived just shy of Emile.

Standing on him, Willow positioned her hammer just above his head, ready to crush it at a moment's notice.

"Wait!" Emile shouted before she could drop her hammer, "Criminal or not, he's with me."

"Spright?" Willow looked up.

"I mean what do you even know about him?" Emile asked.

"Code name Blood, member of Graves, responsible for the assasination of Rising Tide's Queen." Willow repeated like it was from a script.

"Right—" Emile coaxed, "and what did we learn about the King of Rising Tide recently?"

Willow noticeably flinched. Her grip around her hammer loosened and she stepped off of Blood entirely.

"What are you saying, Spright?" Willow asked in a low and monotone voice.

'Here goes nothing'

"Code name Spright, member of Graves." Emile repeated, "We've known about Victor for a long time."

'Just need to lie'

Emile kneeled beside Blood. The pale boy looked deflated, his skin was tight and blood seeped out from many of his orifices. Placing his finger on the back of his neck, Emile healed him.

Color returned to his skin, the rips and tears from pulling out so much blood closed and healed. He groaned then pushed himself up.

"So how are you?" Emile asked.

"I wanna go home." Blood turned around and began walking back to his blanket.

"Did—" Willow paused and watched Blood walk away, "did you just heal him?"

"Hmm? Oh, yeah I do that too." Emile waited for Blood to collect his things.

"Why didn't you warn anyone about Victor?" Willow asked.

"Would you have trusted us?" Emile asked in return.

Willow remained silent. Her hammer dematerialized and she quietly waited for Blood to return.

Blood awkwardly pushed past her, refusing to make eye contact with the red-headed giant. He arrived next to Emile and stood behind him, away from Willow.

"Who's the freak?" He whispered to Emile.

Then Willow's hands delicately wrapped around Blood's neck and tightened.

"Who's your friend?" Blood choked out.

"Blood meet Willow, Elder of Black Gates. Willow meet Blood, failed boy band member."

"I'm gonna rip your f—" Blood began to speak but Willow's grip tightened even more.

"Nice to meet you." Willow said through clenched teeth.

"Ghrrgh." Blood struggled to produce any audible noise through Willow's fingers.

"This is going to be interesting." Emile said to himself.

The three of them stood outside of Rising Tide for some time after. Emile answered all of Blood's questions, he told him about everything he did since they last spoke which also gave Willow a better picture of their circumstances.

Willow also had a lot of questions, some for Emile and some for Blood. Luckily Blood was able to twist the story Emile started and confirmed the Queen's involvement in Victor's mastermind plan.

Somehow, they were able to convince Willow that Graves wasn't that bad. Blood chopped everything up to fake news and King Victor's manipulation of the news to give them a bad impression. And with Victor being the major threat these days, Willow ate it up.

"We're leaving in a couple hours with everyone else, we should head back." Emile said.

"About that—" Blood sighed, "we have to walk back. There's something we need to do on the way."

"Of course there is—" Emile heaved, "what is it?"

"We need to capture…" Blood ruffled around in his Beaky Box until he pulled out a photo, "this guy."

Emile grabbed the photograph and looked at the man captured within it. He had long, dirty hair and yellow eyes. He wore an abundant amount of jewelry and an oversized, torn scarf.

"Who is this?" Emile asked.

"Timi." Blood responded.

"Timi?"

"Are you waiting for more because there is nothing more, that's all I got."

"What do you mean that's all you got? Where was he last seen? What's his Gift? Who is he?!" Emile pushed.

"I don't know!" Blood shouted, "You know the quality of those packets! He could be dead for all we know!"

"Then how are we supposed to find him?!" Emile yelled.

"I know Timi." Willow interrupted.
