"Here's your dorm. You'll be rooming with Kae, he's quite dependable." Alie commented as they reached a door.
"Well," She wiped away a bead of sweat. "Nice meeting you, any questions, just ask Kae." She started to walk off.
"Uh..bye!" Mun nervously called.
"Don't cause any trouble!"
That was the second time he was told that that day.
"Do I really look like a troublemaker type?" Mun wondered.
Just then, the door swung open. A nest of bright green hair coupled with a bandanna appeared.
"So, you're my new roomie huh?" Kae looked as if kids finger-painted all over him. He had fair skin but wore the brightest shades of a red T-shirt along w white polka-dot cargo shorts. The grin on his face made him look like he was plotting to steal Christmas.
"Why're you standing there? Come on in!" He made way for Mun to walk in.
Mun walked into the room. There were two beds on each side of a rectangular room with symmetrical cupboards, desks and whatnot. What wasn't symmetrical was the obvious lack of pop band posters and a flurry of papers on the floor.
"Sorry, I forgot to clean up beforehand." Kae scratched the back of his head.
"I-It's fine.." Mun bent down to pick up a piece of paper. "I'll help you clean up.."
"Really?" Kae grinned again. Do his facial muscles never tire? "Thanks, man!"
A while later, they were sitting on their separate beds and chatting.
"All of us must take History, Language Studies and Physical Education. You'll take an aptitude test to determine your other classes based on your results. They'll take your interests into consideration as well." Kae said.
"I'm in Spiritual Studies and Magic Mechanics." Kae proceeded to drone on and on about the two classes. Mun resolved to think to himself.
"An aptitude test... I wonder if botany exists here. Maybe they'll have those monster plants you read about in fiction?"
"Oh yeah, look out for the student council." That got Mun's attention. "They're very vicious. Whenever they look at me I feel like some scared little rabbit!"
"Huh? But... but Alie seemed pretty cool.." Mun muttered.
"Alie? Wait. THE ALIE? HEAD OF STUDENT AFFAIRS ALIE? She's the worst of them all! She once held me up for having one unbuttoned button. One!"
Mun was flustered. The seemingly sweet girl was the nightmare of students?
"Alie... but Alie brought me here and she was friendly."
"Really? That's a first." Kae kicked back onto his bed. "Well, looks can be deceiving."
"Also the second time I've heard that today." Mun thought.
A knock on the door interrupted his train of thought. The door opened to reveal Zawa.
"Zawa! Why're you here?" Kae got up.
"I'm not here for you kid, and don't call me Zawa." Zawa turned to face Mun.
"Come along, it's time for your aptitude test. You did tell him right?"
"Of course I did sir!"
"Alright then."
Mun got up from his bed and walked out the door.
"Good luck in there! Don't be scared by the oldies!" Kae called out.
"Thanks."
