As night falls, the darkness is so thick that he can't see his fingers. Cold raindrops fall on his face with the howling wind. Alex stands motionless, using his death spirit vision to spot two blurry figures hiding outside the back wall of the stable and sneaking malicious glances in his direction through the thick stone wall. He sneers to himself and prepares the heaven and earth net, waiting for the other party to come closer.
Due to the dark light and the mysterious nature of the spirit body itself, Vivi and Kyra thought that Alex would not be able to detect their presence. However, Mari had informed Alex of their approach from the moment they came near. The two girls waited for a moment before moving through the darkness and approaching Alex's location. They were attracted to the necromancer's breath on Alex and, being an undead creature herself.
In the dark, two figures fluttered over. It was difficult to make out their facial features, but it was clear that their expressions were evil and hideous, ready to pounce on Alex as prey and suck his blood.
However, Vivi and Kyra were ultimately disappointed. Just as they got within four meters of Alex, he revealed a smile and murmured, "Sure enough, I didn't wait in vain." As he spoke, Alex waved his hand and activated the Ghost Eye he had been holding. With a surge of magic power, it emitted a ray of light that instantly sucked Vivi and Kyra in.
The two Erzoron banshees were startled and emitted ear-piercing screams as they struggled to break free of the suction. Alex also poured all of his magic power into the Ghost Eye, but he could not handle two Erzoron banshees at the same time. With a furrowed brow, Alex was forced to make a choice. He let go of one Cygnus banshee with his mind and aimed all of the suction at the other. This action immediately proved effective, and the one he let go broke free and fled in the direction it had come. The other one was sucked to death and continued to struggle, becoming a trapped beast and rushing towards Alex with teeth and claws, knowing there was no hope of escape.
The one who escaped was Kyra, Vivi's sister. Vivi, on the other hand, pounced on Alex. The two were twins before they were devoured by the Erzoron python and became Erzoron banshees. They died again and became spirits, always inseparable and close to other banshees. Seeing that there was no hope of escape, Vivi sacrificed herself to give Kyra a chance to escape.
Unfortunately, she encountered Alex and was immediately suppressed by Franz in their confrontation. Franz, driven by Alex's desire to fight, was stronger and able to hurt Vivi's spirit body, causing her to feel pain again. This was the first time Vivi had felt pain in years, a sharp pain that penetrated to the bone marrow. Unable to resist the suction of the Ghost Eye any longer, Vivi was sucked into the pendant.
Kyra, who had fled, rushed seven or eight meters away before realizing that her sister had been captured. She was stunned and did not continue to escape. Even if she had wanted to, it would have been difficult as Mari and two ghosts blocked her way.
"Abominable human, let Vivi go!" Kyra conveyed anger and pleading in a husky voice.
Alex ignored her and used the Ghost Eye to target Kyra. However, she was prepared, and her speed was extremely fast, allowing her to escape the suction force. Alex summoned Franz, Mari, and a ghost squad to surround and suppress her while also summoning ghouls and skeleton soldiers. Although ghouls and skeleton soldiers are undead creatures themselves and can touch ghosts and cause damage, they cannot truly threaten a Erzoron banshee. However, they can slightly contain them, creating opportunities for Franz and Mari to chase and block Kyra.
Kyra recognized Mari, her former sister, and let out a whimper, seemingly asking Mari why she was helping outsiders against her. Mari was honest and unceremonious, telling Kyra about her own experiences and explaining that Alex was her master. She also said that Vivi would soon be like her, something that could not be changed. Mari persuaded Kyra to give up resistance and come to a heavenly place, where there was enough undead breath to swim freely and no longer have to worry about being abused by the crazy blood knight.
Alex's cemetery is almost a paradise for undead creatures. However, Kyra did not understand the beauty of "heaven" and became even more angry upon hearing Mari's persuasion. She rushed towards Alex with a harsh scream. "Are you going to throw yourself into the net?" Alex sneered and urged the Ghost Eye, using all of its power. The magic ring inside the prop ran frantically and emitted a humming sound and magical light. The invisible suction force became tangible, covering Kyra once again.
Kyra's pouncing immediately stopped, and her phantom-like body was restrained by the Ghost Eye. Just then, the evil spirit Franz rushed forward, his sharp claw producing a sound of air being torn as it sliced into Kyra's spirit body.
Kyra let out a harsh scream, "Rain!" her voice even sharper and more abrasive than before. She stepped on Vivi's ashes and was sucked into the Ghost Eye.
Just as Alex was about to relax after capturing Vivi and Kyra, a white shadow suddenly appeared in front of him and let out a scream like a baby. It moved extremely fast, straight towards Alex's face.
Alex was taken aback, and, without hesitation, he released the bone spur technique. This magic was one he had practiced and used thousands of times and he could now cast it silently in an instant. With a wave of his staff, a spike pierced the attacking white figure.
The white figure screamed in pain. Although the Erzoron banshee had no physical body, Alex's bone spurs were summoned from the cemetery and contained the cemetery's spiritual energy. Although they could not kill the spirit body, they were still quite painful and forced Rain, the Erzoron banshee, back with one blow.
Rain had been hiding on the side, ready to sneak up on Alex, but the attack failed. Instead, she was hit with severe pain and fled towards the stone wall next to her, hoping to escape through it and escape Alex's pursuit. However, just as she was about to rush into the wall, another white shadow rushed out from the opposite side and the two white shadows collided head-on.
There was a loud pop as the white shadow rushing out of the wall was immediately scattered. It was a ghost that had been attacking Vivi and Kyra earlier and had been hit by Rain. Its spirit body was not strong enough and collapsed, requiring a lot of spiritual energy to recover when returning to the cemetery.
Although Rain's spirit body did not collapse, her escape speed was also slowed by the sudden ghost and she was quickly caught by Franz and Mari, who were chasing after her.
Alex saw this as an opportunity and, without a word, released the bone spur technique again. This time, he was fully prepared and had condensed enough magic. A spike popped out, emitting a series of "poof" sounds as more than a dozen sharp spikes avoided Franz and Mari and mostly hit Rain.
Rain screamed repeatedly, and suddenly a harsh high-frequency sound wave erupted from the spirit body.
This sound wave oscillated the air, forming a looming ring of ripples. Franz and Holly were the first to be swept by the high-frequency sound wave. Immediately, their spiritual bodies vibrated and were injured at the same time! Alex, who was far away, found that he was wrong and wanted to run, but it was too late, which made his complexion change dramatically. If this kind of sound wave hit him, it would have to shatter his internal organs. At the critical moment, he hurriedly summoned zombies. In an instant, three rough-skinned iron-skinned zombies appeared in front of Alex to block the propagation direction of the sound wave.
The sound wave continued, producing a muffled sound. The front iron zombie was hit by high-frequency sound waves, its hard and shrivelled skin strong enough to resist bullet attacks but unable to block the shock of the high-frequency sound waves. It was as if a crushed balloon had exploded, with fishy black blood and rotten muscles splattering everywhere.
Alex couldn't help but gasp as he watched. It was clear that the high-frequency sound waves emitted by Rain's were far more damaging to physical bodies than to spirit bodies. According to reason, the defence and vitality of the iron-clad zombie far exceeded that of Franz and Mari, who were evil spirits. If we were to follow the game's setting, with one side being a shield warrior and the other being a magician, Franz and Mari should not have been injured at all. However, the iron-skinned zombie, which had thick skin and was supposed to be a "meat shield," was killed in a second.
Alex was relieved that he had acted quickly and summoned three ironclad zombies in a row. The first one was killed instantly, but the energy of the high-frequency sound wave also dissipated quickly, and when it hit the second ironclad zombie, it only injured it and was completely dissipated.
However, Rain, the source of the sound wave, wilted like a deflated leather ball and tried to escape, but was sucked in by the ghost eye. Alex was secretly delighted to have already collected four Erzoron Banshees, with only two remaining to reach his goal of six. Finding the last two banshees, however, would be a difficult task, as Goldert Castle had stated that they could be anywhere.
Meanwhile, there was a commotion at the city hall with the sound of lightning and thunder getting louder and louder, and even the rumbling of cannon fire. Alex followed the noise and saw, through the white light of the lightning, a translucent dome-shaped light curtain above the city hall, with a black figure suspended above it, attacking the light curtain with thunder and lightning. Alex was shocked by the strength of this figure, which was beyond his current understanding of extraordinary power, and could potentially be a high-level official mage or even a great magician.
At present, the deputy captain of the castle patrol, Reymond, and his ten-man squad arrived on the scene, carrying torches and kerosene lamps. Reymond noticed something was off and stopped in his tracks, ready to ask what was happening. However, before he could speak, he suddenly raised his eyebrows and rolled forward, drawing his battle short sword and sweeping it backwards without looking. The sword clashed with the patrolman behind him, who was already pale and had bruises on his forehead and cheeks, as if he had been possessed by a ghost.
Reymond recognized the signs of ghost possession and reacted quickly, drawing his enchanted pistol and shooting the patrolman in the head. The patrolman's head was almost completely shattered by the powerful enchanted bullet, but the person's body did not fall. Instead, it made a whining sound and reached out its hands, staggering forward like a zombie.
The other onlookers were terrified by the scene, and Reymond's face was not looking good either. Despite his experience on the battlefield and ability to crawl out of a pile of dead bodies, he felt a trace of fear at this moment and subconsciously took a step back. Alex, on the other hand, was not scared and instead sneered at the situation. He had been worried about not being able to find the remaining two Erzoron banshees, but they had actually come to him.
