Chapter 1 - Death to the former.

My head rang as if hit by a boulder, the lump on my head felt as if I had a bone sticking out of my skull.

While men surrounded me, another unknown woman tended to my head. The strength in my arms wouldn't allow a fight.

"Don't worry, we saved you." Her gentle touch was livid and comforting. Her eyes looked at me with worry. My lungs and heartbeat heavily thudded in my chest. My head, empty and dizzy.

"Who are you?" Was the first of many questions I could muster to ask.

She looked dangerous with battle wounds on all parts of her body and rough hands. "My name is Vita, I led this side pack here to find you, it was a great journey to come here but I see it was worth it."

The wolves... No men. In their place sat four wolves. My senses sprang alive, my mouth refusing to move. I racked my brain for information but it was left blank. It felt odd as if everything was out of reach.

"You are our leader, we serve you until the day we die." Their voices, deep and pressuring.

"What happened to me?" I said hesitantly.

"You came off your horse and hit your head while you were being chased by bounty hunters. We ran to get you, so we didn't manage to get the hunters." Vita said, still beside me.

"Thank you," I whispered, almost inaudibly, still unsure of my predicament.

Vita stood and walked over to the little boy who was sitting in the corner, "I've had to bring my cub along, his name is Leo, he won't be in your way."

She felt like a breath of fresh air in contrast to the stares of curious wolves suffocating me.

The tallest and biggest one out of the four stood, his dark red hair noticeable at a glance.

"Pleased to finally speak to you, I am Evander but you may call me Evan, I am the beta of the pack, please let me stay by your side and help you lead."

"You'll have much to teach me." I replied.

Right of him a humble and refined gentleman bowed.

"I am Ferox, warrior." he greeted.

"A man of few words but he is great at what he does and will protect you until he falls." Evan explained.

The brown haired, slim, not very strong looking one who looked the friendliest began his greeting, "H-hello, my name is Akiro, I'm new and just an Omega. I-i do the cooking and gather."

I could see the last one was practically glaring at him, probably because of his stuttering. He seemed to be busy telling off the omega with his fierce glare. His long black locks distracting me from his muscular figure.

Recomposing myself, "And you?"

He looked back at me and replied, "Drake, I fight, my previous role is no longer needed here."

He spoke firmly with grace.

I needed a moment to think this over. Sitting up and reassuring I'd be back, breaking an awkwardness I created. The cave opened up to a sun boring high, glistening over a stream.

The sensation in my hands, tingling in the heat, it felt unreal. The cuts on my arms felt foreign to me.
