Chapter 112: Saint Charlos
The trio of kidnappers ran through the streets of the Shabondy archipelago while carrying the unfortunate mermaid.
"Boss!, I think someone is following us!" One of the men said.
"Shit!. We just need to make it to the auction house, no one can touch us there. We are very close already. Let's cut through that alley!" Ordered their boss.
They made a quick turn and entered an empty alley, leaving behind the streets filled with people.
"Bad move." A female voice came from behind them. "Bullet"
One of the men gave a painful grunt and fell down.
"What is going on?!" The boss demanded. He and his remaining man turned around to face their attacker.
"Bullet"
The other man fell. A red dot decorated his forehead.
"You guys just bit more than you could possibly chew." The figure of Vivi appeared out of the shadows of the alley.
"You!, you weren't there!" The boss exclaimed. "L-Let me go!..or…" He gripped the sack that he was carrying with more force and a painful yelp came from the inside.
While he was going this, Vivi had already sent a piece of herself ahead until it reached the feet of the kidnapers boss.
"No matter what you do, it won't change what will happen to you…you are already dead." As she said this, the small mass of water that she placed at his feet became alive again and jumped into him.
"What is this?!, water?" He tried to remove the moving mass of water as it was climbing through his body.
"Why do you think the posters call me the water demon?" Vivi asked.
"Stop, please…I-!" That was the last thing he had a chance to say as the mass of water covered his entire head, preventing him from breathing.
But during his desperation, the man threw the sack containing Camie and it landed near the next exit of the alley, allowing people walking the street to see it.
Vivi closed the gap between them and placed a hand around his chest.
"Shotgun"
Blood sprayed over the floor of the dank alley as hundreds of holes appeared on the man's body.
Vivi moved quickly past him as he fell to the ground, hoping to get Camie before anyone spotted her.
But she knew that she was too late when she heard people gasping in surprise.
"Is that a mermaid?" Someone asked.
"My!, you are right. Look, she has fins instead of feet" another bystander yelled and pointed at Camie.
When Vivi left the alley and entered the busy street, she spotted Camie surrounded by several people.
She had managed to get out of the sack but seemed to be in pain and unable to stand.
Camie was looking around at the people observing with fear in her eyes.
"Please…stop staring at me…"
Vivi was about to rush to Camie's side and disperse the crowd when a loud shot was heard.
"Move aside commoners! Move aside or suffer the consequences!"
The people who heard this turned around and were about to start shouting obscenities when they saw who was behind them.
"I-Its a…"
"A Celestial Dragon!"
People shouted.
"Move aside already, unless you want to be executed" A bodyguard wearing a black suit gave his ultimatum before drawing a gun.
The crowd dispersed so fast that people who fell down were stomped by the ones behind.
The Celestial Dragon ignored the frightened masses and focused on the injured girl that was laying on the ground.
"What do we have here? is that really a mermaid?"
"She is, and a young one at that" the bodyguard agreed.
"I must truly be blessed!". He turned to one of the armored guards who were following him.
"What are you waiting for?. I want that mermaid for my collection, go get her for me!".
"Yes Sir" the guard saluted and rushed to Camie's side, but before he could touch her, he was blasted away by a stream of water.
"Sorry, Charlos. But you can't have this one" Vivi said as she was walking out of the alley.
"How dare you address a Celestial Dragon so casually. And you just attacked a holy guard too. Who are you?, Identify yourself!" The bodyguard demanded.
"Wait!" Saint Charlos ordered as his other guard was preparing to attack her.
"You are Nefertary Vivi. I remember seeing you at Mariejoa some years back"
"Yes, I was only eleven at the time and you were very creepy" Vivi did not mince her words.
"How dare you?!". Even if you are a princess, you can't talk to me like that". Charlos got very angry.
The crowd of people was growing as more arrived and wondered what is going on, but no one dares to approach.
"Sir!" The black-suited bodyguard called.
"What is it?" The saint said with irritation.
"A lot has happened since a year ago when you left the Holy land for the last time. Nefertary Vivi is no longer a royal princess. Instead, she became a pirate and joined a crew called the Strawhats" The suited man explained.
"That is a stupid name…but is not as stupid as a royal princess renouncing to the throne to become an outlaw."
Charlos started to laugh but no one understood why.
"You know? a while ago, my father was planning on marrying us, but he didn't like how defiant and brass you were during your visit, so he ended up scratching the idea. I was a bit disappointed back then…you were so pretty…but now, things are different"
A cruel smile appeared on Charlos face.
"Now, you are just a pirate, an outlaw! I can take you as a slave and no one would be able to complain...but I am not a heartless man. You seem to care about that mermaid. If you come willingly, I can consider letting that mermaid go"
