Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Cure Davlin

I approached Barbatos, I assured him that I needed the god heart and I will do nothing bad. hoping that my words would convince him to trust me. His piercing gaze bore into me, skepticism etched onto his face,

After a moment of tense silence, Barbatos finally spoke. "Very well. I will trust you, but you must return the heart to me once the cure is done."

Relief washed over me, and I nodded my head in gratitude. I knew that his trust was not easily earned, and I was determined to prove myself worthy.

Two days later, we arrived at the location where Davlin lay unconscious. The sight of him in such a sorry state made my heart ache. His body was covered in strange markings, and I could sense the dark energy emanating from him. We had to act quickly.

Lumine stepped forward, her hand glowing as she placed it on Davlin's forehead. Her purifying energy washed over him, causing the markings to fade away, and his breathing became more stable. I marveled at her natural talent for purifying dark energy, grateful to have her on our team.

Next, it was my turn to step forward. I focused my Yang energy, pouring it into Davlin's body to cure him from the inside. It was a delicate process, and I had to be careful not to disrupt the balance of his energy. Barbatos lent his aid, drawing out the remaining poison from Davlin's body, allowing us to complete the cure successfully.

The hours stretched on as we worked tirelessly to heal Davlin. When we were finally done, he sat up, looking much better than before. Gratitude flowed from him as he thanked us all, turning to Barbatos and thanking him for his help.

Barbatos simply nodded in response, a small smile on his face. "It was nothing. I am just glad to see you well again," he said.

As we all began to leave, Jean approached me, a small box in her hands. She presented it to me, and as I opened it, I found a shiny new weapon nestled inside. "Consider this a thank you for all of your hard work," she said.

Despite my gratitude for the gift, a small part of me felt disappointed. I had hoped for a more personal reward, something like a kiss on the cheek. The books and anime I used to watch before I crossed over to this world had set my expectations high.

As we made our way back to Mondstadt, Lumine and Barbatos chatted about her brother, their conversation light and cheerful.

Meanwhile, Paimon was already dreaming of the delicious food she would eat. I walked alongside them, feeling content and at peace.

The sense of accomplishment that came with helping others was a reward in itself, and for now, that was all I needed.
