Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 - A Grand Scheme (2)

I was still quite shaken up after that day, currently, he was sitting on his bed with Arwan and Victor tending to him.

I was sitting on his bed with a blanket around him while Victor was sitting next to him, comforting him, and Arwan was standing by the nightstand wringing out a towel soaked in cold water.

When Lev came out of the tea room with Oryn, Arwan was surprised by his Liege's actions, but he quickly understood what to do and what the situation was. Arwan immediately grabbed me and brought me up to my room, which made Victor follow suit of us.

Which, led us to the current predicament, I was having a mental breakdown while the two bodyguards tried to calm me down. As soon as Arwan sat down and brought the part of the blanket that was on my head off of it and put the cool towel around my neck, I rested my head on his shoulder.

"M-My Liege?" Arwan responded.

"Just let me stay like this for a bit, i feel more comfortable this way," I admitted.

Victor then started to rub my back like how a mother would when consoling her child, and Arwan just sat there as still as a stump of a tree.

I woke up the next day and got up and out of bed, I had fallen asleep while leaning on Arwan so he was still sitting beside me when I stood up from my bed, and Victor got up from where he was seated while watching me.

"M'Lord? Are you feeling better now?" Victor asked while standing up from his seat, and Arwan also quickly got up from my bed.

"..." I went over to my balcony and went out to it, "Victor, what is the date for today?"

"It's May 16th, Your Grace," He responded.

'If I remember correctly, it was around this time of the Revolution in the Peril Kingdom…And where that divine power is, suppose I'll have to go there next, though at least it'll get me far away from Quare for a while.'

"Haaaa, alright, help me clear up my schedule and pack my bags, we're taking a trip to The Peril Kingdom in a couple of days," I ordered.

"Alright, but how long do you plan to stay there?" Arwan asked with concern since he knew the nature of that place.

"A few months at least, it depends on how long my task takes to complete, of and tell Avery to meet me in the greenhouse, i promised her that we'd spend some time together after i got back from Ender."

I then went into the bathroom to get ready for the day, when i was done i went down to the greenhouse to join Avery for tea time.

When i got down there i was greeted by a smiling child, "Lord Andraste!" Avery beamed with joy at my appearance.

"Hello Avery, I brought you something back from the Capital in Ender," I said pulling out a large pouch from behind me.

"Oh? What is it?" She asked.

"Hehe, why don't we sit down first? Then I'll hand it over to you," I gave her a gentle smile.

We then both sat down and I handed the pouch to her, when she opened it she smiled with delight when she saw that it was full of a new set of runes for her, Avery then came over and hugged me.

Avery and I spoke for a couple more hours before I had to go upstairs and finish some of the paperwork I started yesterday and some of the paperwork I had from today to do.

"...Shit…" I cursed at the piles of paper on my desk, "I suppose that this is the paperwork I have to do for just this week?" I asked Diarmaid who just stood there with a smile on his face.

It was mid-day when we arrived in the Peril Kingdom, we decided to use a teleport circle since it wouldn't be that difficult now that we had Arwan with us.

Two days before I had sent a message to the leader of the Revolutionary Army saying that we wished to stay with them, and if they allowed us to I would, in exchange, help as a part of their army.

But of course, I wasn't assigned any sort of troop, nor did I bring the 4th knight brigade, I simply brought Arwan, Victor, and Myself, we were enough as is, since they already had a few swordmasters and spear masters on their side, as well as being made up of mostly Fire nymphs and other related kinds of Spirits.

"Welcome Lieutenant Colonel Andrste!" A woman sang from behind me, "I hope the teleport over here wasn't to hectic or uncomfortable," She tried to sympathize.

"Of course not! Especially if I get to see the great general Vendetta as soon as I arrive!" I flattered her.

"Oh please, you might make me blush!" She teased while holding a hand to her cheek.

Vendetta, in the novel, was the Leader and General of the revolutionary army, while Vendetta was just a nickname, nobody knew her real name nor was it or her past ever revealed.

She had long orange hair with yellow tips and it was in two Dutch braids, she also had amber eyes and umber skin. She was wearing obsidian black armor, over top of a red and orange tunic. She also was wearing armor boots that went just an inch past her knee, and it was made entirely of silver, i also noticed that she kept a sword at her side and a large pouch, which I could feel a bit of mana radiating from.

"Well, shall we get down to business?" I said, wanting to quickly get our business done so I could quickly get to where I was staying and start concocting my plan on how to get the divine power.

"Right, if you'll just follow me out of the room to my office," She extended her hand to the door behind her and I left the teleport room to follow behind her.

We went to her office and had a small chat about military strategies and Victor, Arwan, and I's abilities, we also talked about the different positions of the army and who all of the different captains of each division were.

"And that concludes all of the information i have for you, any questions?" Vendetta asked.

"Ye-"

"No, I think I have the jist of everything now," I said, quickly cutting off Victor.

I then mistakenly looked in his direction where I could see his disgrunting facial expression, his eyebrows were scrunching his nose bridge, and his mouth was curled into a "Ugh" expression, he was also giving me the stink eye.

I, in turn, gave him a playful and smug smile, since i knew he could retort in any way, especially in front of someone who doesn't belong or work for our house.

"Alright, i have a few more things to get done, so i'll have someone else escort you to you're quarters," She said.

At 11 o'clock that night, I snuck out of the Revolutionary Armies base. Before i came to the Peril Kingdom i did some research on the temples and shrines in the country, that was when i found out that, that scammer god had a temple in the same village that the Revolutionary army was housed in.

And i was currently on my way to that very temple, and i planned to not only give that God a piece of my mind, but to before that ask where the location of the next Divine power was.

'Hehehe, just you wait, ya' scammer god!'

Half an hour later i was standing in front of Orion temple, which was the name of HUnapo's temple, i wondered if it was a reference to greek mythology, but then i remembered that this wasn't earth and quickly brushed that thought away.

Going up the stamps to the temple entrance, i was greeted by a young woman who looked to be in her early 20's, she had Mink hair tucked into a hair claw that was in the shape of a rose and turquoise eyes.

She was also quite pale, but still had a lively glow to her, she also had beauty compared to that of an angel. She was wearing a dark purple nuns uniform, and on the bottom of her veil were crosses, she was also wearing a necklace that had a scale charm on it, and on the bottom of her skirt was a pattern of flowers and humming birds.

"Um, hello there, is it to late for me to come give prayers?" I said, trying my best to make it sound not like a lie.

'I'm too much of an Atheist for this bullshit!'

"No need to worry child, for the Lord has been waiting for you, please follow me," She then turned around and walked into the temple. I quickly followed her in a confused manner.

'Could she perhaps be his holy maiden? No, it's too soon for her to pop up, plus that God said that i would meet her in Zyon.'

"Excuse me, but what do you mean he's been waiting for me-" I started to ask but was cut of by a grunt of pain.

"Ah! My apologies, i forgot to give you the protection charm, i truly am sorry!" She quickly apologies and ran off into a room in the same hall we were walking in.

A couple of sharp pain pricks later and she returned with an amulet, which he quickly put around my neck. When she did so, the pain immediately stopped. I stood up in a confused daze, not sure what just happened, but my head still spinning a bit.

"What was that?" I question, taking a seat in the bench a few feet in front of us.

"My deepest apologies, you see, the temple has a special barrier that is used with holy magic. It was put in place just recently considering the demon attacks happening on the continent, and i only affects those who live with dead mana and demonic energy," She explained.

"And since i'm both a necromancer and a Dark-Elf it deemed me a target correct?"

"Yes, that seems to be the case, i kind of forgot to give you the amulet thinking you'd be fine since you were his Lordships guest, but it seems that my assumption was wrong," She admitted.

"That's alright, i'll make sure to tell him that it was a misunderstanding, that should at least lessen your punishment, right?"

"Oh! Thank you so much, you are truly kind!"

"Please, i'm nothing of the sort, i'm only doing this for my own benefit," I then continued to walk down the corridor in the direction we were heading in before. The priestess then quickly ran in front of me and resumed in leading the way.

A few moments later and we had arrived in front of a large doorway, both of the doors were made out of marble and had some carvings in them that were lined with gold. Beside the doorway was marble pillars, like the ones you would see in old greek ruins, except these ones were whiter and had golds rings around the top and bottom on them.

"My apologies young master, but I cannot follow you into this room, for as you see, only personnel authorized by the Lord or the Holy maiden can enter," She explained, going back to her weird way of speech.

"Okay, so do i just push the doors to open them then?" I asked turning around, but when i did i was greeted by an empty hall with not a soul in it but myself and the other soul in my body.

"..."

I stood there with a blank look on my face, then was startled by the sound of moving stone behind me. That was of course caused by, you guessed it, the large closed doors that i was looking at in awe earlier.

'I wanna go home,' i said regretting all of my life choices, before going through the large doorway.

"Oh my, i really didn't think i'd see you again so soon! My greetings, Saito Anzhong," I was greeted by the same mischievous smile that haunts my dreams ever since i met the owner if it.

"Oh please, you know that i know that you knew i was coming here, and you know the exact reason why too," i said, trying to get down to business.

"Yeah, i did and do, after all, i know everything there is to know. Like how you had a nice night with that dragon, what was his name again? Right, it was Arwan!" He said, teasing me.

"OH HUSH, besides, you look different, whats the occasion?" I jested, wanting to know why he looked all dressed up.

He was currently wearing a tight white turtleneck tank top, with a cardigan that went off of his shoulders onto his elbows, and had tails of a tail coat, the cardigan also a god lining to it. He was also wearing white pants, the pant had a part where it imitated a toe ring, but it was still connecting to the pants with a gold ring that was on his middle toe, and left the rest of his "Dogs" exposed.

He was adorned with gold jewelry, gold cuffs were on his wrists also connecting to his middle fingers, and he was wearing a choker made of gold, and on his elvish ears he had a gold ear cover that was just on the tips of his ears. I had also noticed that instead of his halo crown that was made up of some sort of fabric, he was instead wearing a gold laurel wreath crown that looked like the one Julius Caesar was pictured wearing.

"Oh, it's just that my cousin had visited me to day, so i thought i'd get dressed up to see her," He then paused and gave me a blank look before saying, "And before you say anything, don't even compare me to those incest greek gods!"

"Sorry, but wait, you have a cousin?!" I exclaimed.

"Oh course i do, now enough about me, and lets get down to business, you want to know the location of Prometheus' Fire right?" He said leaning forward and putting his elbow on his usual table in front of him and resting his chin on his knuckles.

"Prometheus' Fire?"

"Yes, that is the name of you're next Divine power, though the color of the fire really has nothing to do with the kind of flames he gave to the mortals."
