The blinding sunbeam fell directly on my face, giving my eyes one more reason to stay shut. A pleasant sweet aroma tickled my nose, bringing my consciousness alive.
When something covered the sunlight and cast shade on my face, my eyes slowly opened. My vision was blurry at first, but as soon as I realized who was in front of me, my eyes instantly focused.
"Good Morning, Husband." A woman wearing a yellow apron over her white gown bent forward to greet me.
"Ack!" I swallowed. My voice is refusing to come out.
"Take it easy." Her hands pressed against my chest, lowering my head over the soft pillow.,"You are still recovering."
A warm blanket covered my body, and I felt something even warmer around my ankles. I tried shaking them off, but they still remained there. My mind said something, but hoping it was wrong, I lifted my leg to see what it was.
The blanket slipped, unravelling a black leather strap around my ankles, which were further chained to the legs of the bed.
"What the heck! Get these off me." I yelled, shaking my legs. Waking up to pull those chains, I felt all my muscles tensing up as if I had woken up from a deep slumber.
"Okay, Okay, calm down. I will remove them." She took out a key and showed it to me.,"But first, listen to me."
Is she talking now? It's literally the only thing I asked for that night. Wait, night? What happened that night? I was running, and how did she find me? I was outside my door, and now I am here. Once again, I was confused and agitated after memories of that night surfaced in my mind.
"Why are you here? How did you know my house?" I asked her.
"I know, I know. You must be having a lot of questions, but first, you must be starving, so let's have breakfast, and then we can talk."
"..." I calmed down. She is right. I am hungry, and she doesn't look like she wants to harm me.,"Can you open these? I have to brush my teeth."
"Not happening, you will try to run away again."
"I won't" No matter how hard I tried to persuade her, she adhered to her word.
After using the mouthwash, which I don't remember ever having in this room, she served me a simple yet appetising cereal on a bed table which once again I don't remember buying.
Lifting my torso to an incline position against the pillow, she sat on the bed just beside the bed table, facing me and holding a spoon in her hand.
"What's this?"
"Loopios Cereal."
"I meant this." I pointed my finger towards the cereal bowl in front of me. She kept on stirring the cereal, soaking in all the crispy bits.
"Bowl?" She looked genuinely confused.
I sighed. Is she playing with me?
"My hands are fine, right? And my fingers too. I can eat myself."
She stopped stirring and looked at me.
"You even soaked the crunchy part, which I like. They're all soggy now." I continued to complain, losing confidence.
I noticed a slight annoyance in the way she looked at me now. Clutching my right hand with her free hand. She tried to fake a smile.,"Will you eat or not?"
"Yes, Ma'am," I said, suddenly feeling inferior.
Now that I see her close in daylight, her blue eyes are still gleaming just like they did that night. Her hair is white and silky long, and it tickled my arms when it brushed against them. She looked mature and a bit older than me, but I think she has another personality to it too, the one where she is cuddly and lets all her emotions loose. Also, I never had the apron she is wearing now.
The woman in a yellow apron fed Lynn with a spoon, alternating with herself, and even though it was awkward at first, soon he got the rhythm of it. She slowly revealed bit by bit what Lynn wanted, or should know. And even answered back to most of his questions.
"By the way, did you go shopping?" I asked after swallowing a spoonful of cereal. They were so soggy that I didn't even have to chew them.
"Yes, I did. This apartment doesn't even have the basic necessities. How do you live here?" She asked, bringing the spoon near my mouth. "Coming back to the main topic," she said, "I lifted my hand to wipe my mouth, but the woman holding a napkin stopped my arm and patted my lips dry with the napkin. "Now this is what I meant by overplaying. Wait. You know what I think, I think you are readying me like a pig, and then, after we have finished mating, you will eat me like a black widow spider."
A second later, she started laughing. She would have slipped the spoon from the bowl if I hadn't caught it in time.
"After everything I told you, this is what you come up with?" She went to put the bowl by the sink, still laughing.
"You just told me Four things. One. If you tell me anything about yourself or your past, I will die. Two. You saw me at that Italian restaurant, and it was love at first sight. Then, when you were chosen by your weird boss to marry me, it was a pure coincidence. Three, You don't want to force me to love you, I am free to be who I am. Four, I am dead if I am away from you for too long or force a divorce."
"Good. You get it." She answered while doing the dishes.
Lynn threw away the bed table beneath his bed and lay back on his bed, looking at the woman who washed dishes like a wife.
"Can I call you Black Widow?"
"Nope"
"But you said I c."
"Nope."
"Just so you know. I will only mate with you after I let my teammates know where I am. Those guys are a bit jealous kind, and I am sure they will slaughter you before you can even touch my pants." I said confidently. because it is true. She untied her apron and placed it on the hook rail by the door. Then once again she sat on the stool, facing Lynn, and crossed her legs.
"Let me ask you something... Why do you think I want to mate with you?"
"..." I fell silent. The atmosphere tensed up. Every second, her face drew closer to mine, and a soft, wet palm caressed my right cheek. Her blue eyes sparkled ominously, and her demeanour suggested something malevolent. Reflexively, I drew my blanket close to my chin.
"Why can't I have you for my next meal?"
