"Of course I am right. I can't get it wrong twice. Once was deserving of death enough."
"The original police and autopsy report show that Devyn Kaniesky has died. But it appears someone tempered with them so it appears Rhys Grier is the dead one." El took an envelop from a drawer next to his dresser.
"It seemed like something Devyn would do. As if he had faked his own death and tempered with his own fake reports." Ash breathed. "That's what got me. But I was wrong."
When El noticed how Ash's whole body trembled, his hand tightening around the drink, he grabbed the glass that was in his hand, in turn pulling him out of his trance. "It's clear Rhys murdered Devyn. I'll help you."
"You didn't need to take my glass to say that." Before Ash could take his drink back, El drained it. Ash smiled. "You're lucky I like you."
"Unlucky, you mean? You love Addison and strangled her into unconsciousness." El pushed the glass towards El. "The more reason to thank mother nature for giving me a dick over boobs."
"Doesn't matter, you still..."
"No I don't belong to you." El cut him off. "I already have a family I work for. I'm only helping you to repay your kindness for releasing Addison, poor soul."
"Princessah is..."
"No longer yours."
Ash grabbed El's collar and pulled him close, bringing his face up until their foreheads touched and snarled, "Careful. Never cut me off. Boobs or not, I can still screw you over. Princessah is mine, watch how you talk about her."
"I've sent in a sample for DNA. In three days it will be confirmed on who is currently living with Addison." El's voice was low as he said this, not looking away when Ash's eyes angrily searched his.
"I don't need it." Ash let go of him. "I can manipulate any sample to make it match with my genes."
"I gave it personally. My people dont know either. No tampering can be done."
Pouring himself another drink, Ash finished it in one go and glanced at El. "Join me when you confirm your dumb suspicions. Take long, I screw you over, Addison goes to another keeper."
And he was gone.
To start a war.
"Eugenio," El quietly called, keeping his eyes on the door making sure Ash had really gone.
"What are you going to do?" Eugenio walked to where El was seated.
El opened his mouth to answer but closed it again when Ash walked back into the room. Even while his face remained expressionless, Eugenio kept his eyes glued on El, awaiting any reaction that could tell him what to do next.
El smiled to hide his surprise. He should have known a distrustful person like Ash would normally retrace his steps.
But Ash only smiled a little. "Don't look so surprised, I might think you don't like me around."
"Not surprising enough. Expected of you to come back here right after telling me to join you ten years ago." El told him.
"Ten years? You must be nuts." Ash chuckled. "It was barely ten seconds ago."
Annoyed by the tendency of Ash of playing dumb at others' discomfort, El asked. "Why the hell are you still here?"
"I nearly forgot. I'm covered with your blood for fuck's sake everyone would think I was helping you give birth." Ash only grinned when El closed his eyes and took a breath. He turned to Eugenio. "Get me a perfect pair of clothes while I take a shower."
Eugenio eyed El who gave a light nod without opening his eyes, before walking to the door.
"One more thing," Ash called out Eugenio reached the door. "The next time you are caught in an adulterous act with Salvatore," Ash nodded towards El. "Find a better place to hide. Behind an open dress room's door is not ideal, especially when it is covered in mirrors like that."
Ash nodded towards El's dress room in which Eugenio had been hiding earlier. "Mirrors are silly little treacherous things. They can't even hide a ghost's reflection, save that of master El's little lover."
"Shut the fuck up if you want to shower at my place." El rose and left a grinning Ash in his bedroom.
"Fucking bastard." El muttered as he walked with Eugenio.
"I failed to check the angle of my reflection." Eugenio excused. "It didn't tell from where I was."
"Well next time ask the angle to tell from where Ash or someone else would be, will you?" El hissed. "Call Devyn."
"And the clothes Ash...?"
"I'll take them to him myself."
