"I don't have a boyfriend."
"Oh, please don't bore me." Ash glared at some guy making him hastily vacate his seat. "I told you before, I am your boyfriend and it didn't change now that your little shenanigan was exposed."
A frown creased the skin of her face. "How did you and Javier become friends?" she suddenly asked looking up to his face.
Ash gave her a little smile. There were some things that she was best off without knowing. "I'm new in town, please do notify me if there are some rules regarding who to and not to befriend."
"Did you know he.. he..." she closed her eyes and puffed up her cheeks with air. She reminded him of the cute little girls in comics. The girl looked up at him once more, her eyes pleading for assistance.
He fought hard not to reach out and squeeze her to him. Her heart break was evident in her glinting eyes although all he could see in them was his reflection. Fair enough, Ash had set in motion the wheels that led to her pain, but he did it for her sake.
She was simple minded and trusting, her pimp of an ex-boyfriend was going to discover that sooner or later, by when she would have been far too gone.
He knew what she wanted to ask, and he also knew she knew, but he watched her in silence. He wanted to hear her say the words, for his own pleasure and for her own good. Once she said it to him, a whole new wheel would be set in motion.
Adey looked away. "You knew. When did you find out?"
"Soon enough to warn you in time." He replied, taking the conversation the way it needed to go rather than where she wanted it to lead. Her path would lead to an outburst from her side.
She bit the insides of her lower lip. "Warn me?"
"Yes, fortunately, you never took me serious and thus avoided an early heartbreak."
Her eyes flashed and he lifted an eyebrow, a little smile playing on his lips. No one in his place wouldn't have enjoyed the simultaneous change of expressions on her face even if they all spelled the same emotion. Or rather, tried to spell the same emotion.
The little sister was clearly desperately trying to find a reason to render her ex-boyfriend innocent as well as to shift the blame from herself to another person which was not her ex. It was a pity how she still wanted to protect the person who had hurt her, another trait he didn't want discovered and taken advantage of by the wrong minds.
Her brother had already discovered that, but that was something Ash was planning on fixing.
Soon.
"It's not your fault you were born silly enough to choose a wrong person." Ash provoked.
"Silly? I'm not silly, that idiot took my heart and literally trampled on it"
"I'll lend you my heart. I am better off without it as long as you are faithful to me only." He told her and smiled when her eyes widened.
Looking away, she pointed out, "You should have said those words to him, not me. He's the unfaithful one and clearly the heartless." Her little hands were fidgeting on her laps.
Cute. Just cute.
"I thought of saying them to him before, but I figured he would fall for me and you'd still be heartbroken. Being the reason behind your pain is an evil I won't think of doing." He winked when she looked at him. The tip of her nose reddened before she quickly averted her gaze.
"You're sick." She muttered.
"Precisely why I need you."
Her eyes softened. "You..." She started but appeared to think about it and shook her head. "When I asked earlier... I wanted to ask about when have you..."
"Discovered that Javier was your crappy boyfriend?" Ash raised a brow. "The first time I met you." He told her and that was all she needed to know.
"Have you been stalking me?"
"Stalking is a crime. Let's clarify something, shall we?" He leaned forward and beckoned her to come closer. She complied. "I'm closer to you than you can imagine possible." She froze.
Placing his middle finger under her chin, he lifted her face. She slowly lowered her eyes to look at the finger under her chin. The sight of her eyes appearing to slowly close made it impossible for Ash to hold himself back.
He brought his face down and pressed his lips to hers. His breath caught and his eyes automatically closed to allow him to savor the moment and engrave it in his heart.
Her lips were soft but firm enough to exert proper responsive pressure to send thin drops of sweat running down his hairline and make his underpants suddenly feel tight. A reaction he had imagined she would bring out of him but one he hadn't expected nonetheless.
He slowly parted his lips to increase the surface area that would house the memory of her lips and pressed his lips little more. He touched the tip of his tongue to hers and he felt her lips move as she started responding to him.
She parted her lips, an invitation which he took with no hesitation turning the kiss into a fierce activity. His lips moved over hers with an energy of their own, his hand going to the back of her head to keep her from...
Ash was yanked away from the back with no sense of reverence to the divinity of the moment he was sharing with his girlfriend. He saw her eyelids fly open.
She eyed him with eyes filled with disorientation. After searching thoroughly, he found what he was looking for. Hidden in shadows, in the depth of her eyes.
It satisfied him enough to allow him to breathe again.
He didn't need to look to know who it was. "The next time you interrupt at such a moment my demons won't be able to save you." He got to his feet and walked away without a glance at the girl he had been kissing.
Knowing that the interruption had irritated her too was enough to keep him placated. It was as good as it could get to know that after her ex-boyfriend's betrayal, she still hadn't closed up her heart to him, considering that he, Ash, belonged to the same gender as her ex.
"Keep your hands off her." Devyn didn't bother turning to his guest when Ash was escorted into the lascivious room at the heart of the entire block of Eve's Garden.
Eve's Garden consisted of four sections, one of which was well known by the average population, the other was well known by the fancy clubbers, while the other two were most definitely going to be kept away from the little sister's knowledge.
"Quite a luxurious place you've got here, Devyn Kaniesky." Ash walked to the drinks cabinet and poured himself a drink.
He raised a toast to his reflection in the mirrored which toasted back and they drank at the same time before turning to the owner of Eve's Garden and many more places like it.
"Even my reflection loves my look. He said. Aren't you going to praise me for it?"
"You should have come straight for me, not through Addison." Devyn spoke, still not turning to face him.
"If I'd have headed this way heaven knows I'd have injured at least a dozen of your toy men before they would let me in." Ash took a sip allowing the liquid to warm the surface of his tongue before swallowing it.
Doing so seemed to highlight the taste of her which still lingered in his mouth and lips. "Besides, I missed my girlfriend. She is going through a heart break and I had to attend to her before focusing on personal issues."
"You made her leave him."
Ash tilted his head and eyed the person he still knew so well but who appeared to have forgotten exactly who Ash was. "I told you I would, haven't I? Whats mine, is mine."
"I got you the house and cars you asked for. What do you want?"
Smiling, Ash asked, "Don't you think she deserves to know the story behind your success front?"
Devyn turned.
Ash narrowed his eyes at him. "We both know lies send bile rushing up my mouth. Bile is bitter. I hate bitter."
Devyn sighed. And looked away.
"Do you remember what I hate more than the bitter taste of the bile rushing up my mouth?" he asked. "Injustice to my loved one. Aren't we going to do me a favor and tell my girlfriend the truth?"
Devyn said nothing.
"You know I can't lie to a person I love." Ash drained his glass and went for more.
