Chapter 1 - Accident

John sat at his desk, staring at the computer screen in front of him. He had been working for hours, trying to wrap up a project that was due the next day. He was exhausted, but he knew he had to push through and get it done.

Just as he was about to save his work, there was a loud crash outside his window. John jumped up, startled, and rushed to see what had happened. As he looked out the window, he saw that a car had crashed into a tree just a few feet away.

Without hesitation, John grabbed his phone and called 911. He then rushed outside to see if he could help. When he got to the car, he saw that the driver was unconscious and there was smoke coming from the engine. John knew he had to act fast.

He quickly pulled the driver out of the car and carried them to safety, just as the car exploded. John watched in horror as the car was engulfed in flames, knowing that he had narrowly escaped death.

As he waited for the ambulance to arrive, John couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu. He had the feeling that he had experienced something similar before, but he couldn't quite place it.

When the ambulance arrived, John was rushed to the hospital with the driver. As he lay in the hospital bed, he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right. He had a feeling that this was just the beginning of a long and complicated journey. Little did he know, he was right.

John woke up to the sound of beeping machines and the smell of antiseptic. He was disoriented and confused, and it took him a moment to realize where he was. When he opened his eyes, he saw that he was in a hospital room.

He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain in his head made him groan and fall back onto the pillow. He closed his eyes and tried to remember what had happened.

As he lay there, he suddenly remembered the car crash and the feeling of déjà vu. He opened his eyes again and looked around, trying to make sense of everything.

Just then, a doctor walked into the room, followed by a nurse. They greeted John and began to check his vitals and ask him questions. John tried to answer, but his head was still spinning and he was having trouble focusing.

The doctor seemed to sense his confusion and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Mr. Smith, you were in a car accident. You were brought here to the hospital and have been in a coma for the past week. Do you remember what happened?"

John shook his head, still trying to piece everything together. "I remember the crash, but everything after that is a blur. How is the other driver? Is he okay?"

The doctor hesitated before answering. "I'm sorry, Mr. Smith, but the other driver did not survive the accident. You, on the other hand, are lucky to be alive. You were thrown from the car just before it exploded, and you sustained severe injuries. We had to perform surgery to repair the damage, but you are expected to make a full recovery."

John was shocked by this news. He couldn't believe that the other driver had died, and he felt a wave of guilt wash over him. He knew it wasn't his fault, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he could have done more to prevent the accident.

As the doctor and nurse continued to check on him, John's thoughts turned to his own life. He realized that he had no family or close friends to contact, and he had no idea what he was going to do next. He was alone and uncertain, and he didn't know where to turn.

As he lay there, lost in thought, he suddenly felt a strange sensation wash over him. It was as if something inside him was shifting and changing, and he couldn't quite explain it.

Suddenly, he heard a voice in his head. It was faint at first, but it grew louder and clearer as he listened.

"John," the voice said. "John, can you hear me? It's me, your guide. I'm here to help you through this transition."

John's eyes widened in surprise. He had no idea what was happening, but he had a feeling that this was just the beginning of his journey. He knew that he had to pay attention and listen to the voice, because it might be the only thing that could guide him through this strange and unfamiliar world.
