Chapter 25 - Identity theft (Augustus vs. Lilith)

The skating yard had two people looking at each other intensely.

"Teleportation? he…"

Augustus was intrigued by this magic which was difficult to use.

How did he use it if he had no mana? Maybe, that guy in armor who did it? These were Augustus's questions.

A little while before everything was strange, Augustus thought that guy, Night Pigeon was weak, but now he couldn't distinguish between weak and strong anymore.

In the world there really are strong people in different ways. The strength Night Pigeon showed him was something else entirely, and as if those dark eyes hid a power capable of changing the environment around him.

-Punch!

Augustus was thinking deeply and was automatically fighting Lilith without realizing it.

It was normal for SSS-rank hunters who were the third position of the strongest humans.

"HEY!"

Augustus managed to block Lilith's punch with his arm, but his arm tingled.

'She has the same punch as Alustie…'

Someone came to Augustus's mind, a boy with hair blacker than anything in the world.

In the world of Recta two truths were unknown to everyone in general, people with black hair had more mana than normal people.

White-haired people were great at combat skills and mana was sometimes scarce.

There are other characteristics for every hair color on Recta, but back to Augustus' thoughts.

Alustie.

It was a 19-year-old boy, who was considered the strongest human in the world, but the number of people who know this information are few.

This white haired girl literally resembled that black haired monster. Augustus now understood that this girl had formidable strength and was a great opponent.

"I was underestimating you, now let's fight seriously."

Augustus was a little reluctant to hit this girl who resembled his useless granddaughter.

Lilith slashed at Augustus's ribs which broke, but in the next moment he healed quickly.

The same was true for Lilith as every arm of hers that was broken by the impact healed quickly.

It was a break and regenerate fight.

Even though each was breaking each other, they had no intention of killing the other.

They were aiming at points that were not vital and the fight could be over if they were fighting with the aim of killing their opponent.

From a duel, it was now a street fight that was with the sole objective of inflicting pain on the other.

"You really... have a tough personality, not soft. Really a wild animal..."

"Same to you…"

"I wish I had a granddaughter like you..."

"Why?"

Lilith spoke in a relaxed way, but she wanted to know the answer from Augustus, her grandfather.

"You don't give up even if you can't defeat me."

Lilith was a little taken aback by her grandfather's words.

Lilith honestly thought.

If Lilith really wanted to kill Augustus, she would have done it without too much trouble.

She didn't want...

But now she could show that she wasn't a wimp, but now Abeth was no longer Abeth who wants his grandfather's blood spilled on the ground.

She was just fulfilling an ancient promise that ancient Abeth desired. Augustus's death no longer held any meaning or impact in Abeth's mind.

He was a stranger, nothing more.

The only thing that mattered to Abeth was,

Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander. Alexander.

Those were the only words on Abeth's mind.

The way Augustus looked at Alexander and Abeth at the Desir Auction was exactly the same as the day he'd dropped a word as he walked away from the brem's manor.

'Useless.'

Abeth couldn't bear that word being directed at Alexander.

He's crazy, yes.

But useless, no.

He pretends to be weak so that he can live comfortably and not cause trouble.

Why do you say he is useless?

He is more useful than all!

No one could say such words to He. Alexander and now his family, and saying that Alexander is useless, causes obsessive feelings to arise in Abeth. If Alexander doesn't like killing others, I'll do that job for him. No one can go against Alexander, there is no room for enemies or anything that might displease Alexander!

"I wish I had a granddaughter like you..."

"Why?"

"You don't give up even if you can't defeat me."

Lilith thought for a while and she had a brilliant idea.

"I can be the granddaughter you've always wanted."

Lilith's appearance changed to her real form, Abeth was now in the form of 5 year old Abeth.

"Let's play grandpa! You took the day off!"

She was walking towards Agustus slowly and she changed her appearance to 10 year old Abeth.

"Phew! Grandpa look, I can use mana."

Abeth walked again closer to Augustus who was totally paralyzed.

Changing form again, 15 years.

"Hey, old man. I made... this gift for you... and thanks for the gifts..."

Abeth has changed his appearance the last time, now 18 years old.

"Die grandpa."

Augustus didn't understand what had happened and his body was completely destroyed.

"You've become strong..."

The only person left in that place was someone who didn't express feelings on his face.

With the help of the power of chaos Abeth had recreated the memories of when she spoke with her grandfather, and the price for recreating the memories was the death of Augustus as payment.

But those memories had little changes.

The first was that he never wanted to play with Abeth and always said he had work to do.

The second era Abeth couldn't use mana and it was the first time her grandfather called her useless.

The third was that Abeth never received a gift from her grandfather, but she always gave a gift on her birthday, father's day, color day, her wedding anniversary and many other commemorative days.

The fourth was the desire of ancient Abeth.

She left that place and went to meet Alexander.
